I USED TO HATE HER, BUT AFTER HEARING THIS: SHE'S "TIGHT"!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dirty Harriet (Audio CD)
When I first heard Rah Digga on the Fugees album with L. Hill, I thought she was okay. When she joined the Flipmode squad, I started to hate her voice. Plus I didn't think she could flow. When I heard that she had a solo joint coming out, I didn't even think about buying it. I knew the beats would be tight, but I hated her voice. After I heard the song "Tight", I was mad surprised. For some reason I bought the album and I've been thumpin this joint ever since. R.I.P Pun, but Digga's album is much better than Big Pun's last joint. Every song on Digga's album is well produced. This is true hip hop. This is the best female rap album EVER! Lil' Kim better come raw, cause if she doesn't, Rah Digga WILL TAKE HER CROWN! Eve is tight too, but Digga is so much harder. Her lyrics are so on point. Her lyrics are raw, clever, and obviously well thought out. Even if you still can't feel her voice or her flow, the beats make up for it. I hate to say it, but her album is better than any other Flipmode release yet. Yes that includes Busta Rymes. Just listen.

Not Just the Best Female MC but One of the Best MCees Period,
By
This review is from: Dirty Harriet (Audio CD)
I was hesitant on buying this album since I didn't like anything from the Flipmode Squad, not even Busta. But I decided to cop it cause I heard so many good things about it. And I have to say Dirty Harriet has to be one of the best hip hop albums ever. The beats are some of the illest I've ever heard. Digga has the best flow I've heard from any MC be it man or woman, and her voice is amazing. She is definitely the best female rapper, Eve doesn't even hold a candle to Ms. Thugman. The best songs are Curtains, Tight, and What They Call Me. But believe me every single song on this cd is of the hook. This is one of the few cds I have that I can listen to all the way through and love every minute of it.

The woman says she is tighter than "3 or more heads in a CRX." I cannot find any reason to argue with that -- that says it all.

SHE WRITES HER OWN RHYMES! -,

Rah Digga needs to ghost write for some other artists in the industry male and female. Lyrically she is tight. In an industry where most women feel the need to sell their bodies to sell records Digga puts a fork in them and sends them back to whence they came. Dirty Harriet is what hip-hop is about. Digga's tracks are hard and she does't sugar coat anything. 'Curtains' is a banger and 'Break Fool' will put you in the hospital unless you hold on to your neck. Digga is hardcore without the use of a G-string. This album is a winner. I see Digga as being one of the top MCs in the game and the top female lyricist. She more than reps for FLIPMODE. ONE - JQ

One of the Best Female MC's !,
By
This review is from: Dirty Harriet (Audio CD)
If you thought that female MC's would just stick to sex and their favorite fashion designers then Rah Digga will pull you up out your seat and have you running to go listen to classic MC Lyte and Queen Latifah for comparison. Despite her obvious beauty, Rah Digga never resorts to Lil Kim/Foxy Brown tactics. Instead she does just like the fellas--battle. The songs on this album are well-produced throughout including the short Busta-produced "Harriet Thugman", the collabo w/Eve and Sonja Blade "Do The Ladies Run This", the singles "Imperial" and "Tight" ,"Straight Spittin Pt. 2" (which samples the classic comedy "Young Frankenstein"), and the Primo-laced "Lessons of Today". This CD is very good but not enough to be 5 stars in my opinion. Some songs are skippable. But this is a CD definitely worth getting. By the way, there are TWO bonus tracks on this CD!

It MUST BE SOMETHING IN THE WATER!,

Rah Digga album is phat but have u notice all the female hip hop talent in New Jersey. With Lauren, Latifah, Rah Digga, Heather B, Lady Luck, Nikki D(Old school), and many more they run female hip-hop.And they all are real lyricist who don't need Biggie or JZ to blow them up. They don't even have to take their clothes off! Thats a lot of female rappers when u consider the number of rap women in the business. Continue to bring out real female rappers Jersey. I never been to jersey but i love the independence(Latifah,Lauren etc) in your women. We need more jersey type females in this game.

RAW DIGGA!,

Rah digga is another one of hiphop's elite that we should never forget regardless of how lukewarm her singles that came after this album are. Standout tracks: Break Fool, Tight, What they call me, Do the ladies run this, lessons of today, curtains etc plus there are two bonus tracks on this cd that are great. Filler: F--k yall n---as and the skits are stupid as hell! Lesson of today(produced by DJ Premier) and What they call me(Produced by Pete Rock) should be remain on the minds of every hiphop head till the day they die! Rah digga gets my respect because she isnt a lowlife rap hooker like these other overhyped drama queens. She gave her all on this album and thats what you get. I would recommend this album to anybody.

Female rap at its best,

i was very surprised when i heard how rah digga ripped this album apart. especially after my great let down from the eve album. i'm from the philly area and couldn't believe the low production of the eve cd, but this is nothing like it. rah's cd is massed produce, with guest appearances that are actually good, and whats more, with lyrics that actually sound intelligent. the combination of these things haven't been seen very often in such a mainstream artist. rah digga keeps it real, bringing the underground flava to the radio waves, without selling out.

I will no longer sleep on Rah Digga,
By J. Highsmith (Mitchellville, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews

I knew Rah Digga was in the Flipmode Squad, but she didn't start catching my attention until I heard "Cha, Cha, Cha" on Flipmode's "Imperial... The Album". She always has a tight verse on all Flipmode songs, but on April 4th when her CD came out, all my attention was on the release of Big Pun's CD. My roomate bought the CD and I still didn't listen to it. Then I was listening to the radio one day and I heard the "Whoa!" (Remix) w/ Black Rob and a host of other rappers but the part I remembered the most was the Rah Digga verse. After listening to her CD, I realized what a mistake I had made. "Dirty Harriet" is a fine offering from the first lady of the Flipmode Squad. She has a style that many females rapping today can not even try to compare to. The best songs on her CD are "Imperial" w/ Busta Rhymes, "Curtains", "Do The Ladies Run This" w/ Eve and Sonja Blade, "The Last Word w/The Outsidaz, and "Straight Spittin' Part 2". For anyone that likes the Flipmode Squad or just likes someone who can rap and has lyrics that'll get your attention, this is the CD for you.

A Hip Hop Classic,
By Keith A. Jones "Sonic Jones... I'm Kind Of A ... (Philadelphia PA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)

Now I have heard a lot of people say that Rah Digga has sick lyrics but the production is all wrong so let me explain. If you're a mainstream commercial rap head then yes I guess to you the production would be terrible but if you know true hip hop then you give this album and it's production the respect it deserves. First if you don't know Digga's style that well you buy this thinking it will be commercial from the songs she released like Break Fool but it's not even close to commercial. The beats are hot but they also are the type of beats that make the artist step up their flow to that next level and Digga uses this perfectly. She to me was the top female artist when this album came out and she is way better than most of the guys. She does everything from telling stories to sick punchlines, which makes this a classic. Now one thing a lot of people always want to know is if the album is in your stereo system is the bass on point. Yes these beats might even break your speakers and it will most likely disturb every neighbor on your block.
