It's Hard Out Here for a...,
By
This review is from: Dirty Little Angel (Paperback)
Chaos Mitchell is tired. She's tired of stripping. She's tired of turning tricks. And more importantly, she's tired of Crown, her pimp. Crown rules with an iron fist, often violent to show his stable who's boss. This isn't the life Chaos envisioned when she moved from New York to Philly. She wants out, but with a pimp like Crown, it won't be easy. She knows it's something she can't do alone. She has to fight fire with fire. Her fire just happens to be YB, a young hustler with a soft spot for Chaos.
Read the synopsis and thought, here we go again! Not another story about a stripper/pro wanting out. But, what Erica Hilton did was take the premise, made it her own and ran with it. DIRTY LITTLE ANGEL reads easily and can hold its own. The plot also has unique twists that will keep readers going. The strength of this novel lies in its realistic outcome. Don't know how the title came into play, though. Looking forward to NOTORIOUS.

Destruction,
By
This review is from: Dirty Little Angel (Paperback)
Dirty Little Angel by Erica Hilton is a fast-paced, drama-filled, action-packed novel that will have you leaping out of your seats. Ms. Hilton penned a novel packed with colorful characters, grimy tricks and new-age pimps. Dirty Little Angel is filled with graphic gory details that will have you reading with one eye opened, while praying for the destruction to end. Chaos is the main character in this not so fairy tale. We meet Chaos during labor when her mother was pushing her out in an abandoned building filled with rats and turning a trick at the same time. Diane was oblivious to the pain she was willing to subject her daughter to and instead figured she would call her what she felt she was going through in life... Chaos.
Growing up was hard for Chaos, in-and-out of foster homes and being abused and tricked out, she ran away from her latest foster home and into the arms of a hard-core killer/pimp, Crown. Crown was the head man in charge in Philly and staked out bus stops and anywhere he could find young girls to fill his stable. Selling drugs, girls, and whatever, Crown showed no regard for anyone's feelings. Beating his women was his way of keeping them in line, but Chaos had enough and was out for revenge. Hooking up with Crown's nemesis, YB, Chaos formed a plan to make everyone rich and get outta the game. The problem is how much blood will be shed before all is said and done? Will Chaos and YB get out of Philly alive? Will Crown bow down to YB or will there be hell to pay in Philly when the smoke clears? Stay tuned, this is one book you will go through in one night t o find out who is left standing when the smoke clears. I recommend this book to readers of street-lit. Dirty Little Angel was crazy and full of excitement, sexy scenes, blood and gore. With a little bit for everyone how could you go wrong? Reviewed by: Cheryl H APOOO BookClub

Angel Gets Payback!,
This review is from: Dirty Little Angel (Paperback)
This is an interesting book full of drama, love, sex and violence. There are girls/young ladies that have run away or left home with no means of support who go to work for a pimp who dogs them out really bad. He is something mean to them. A couple of them finally gets tired and wants to get payback for all the beatings that he has given them. He was really ruthless. In the end they do get payback. This books keeps you in suspense. A book that you would not want to put down until the end of the story. I would like to know what will eventually happen to Chaos and YB in the future.

Pimp Down,
By Carmel Princess (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirty Little Angel (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this novel, a page turner. Some of the scenes are very graphic and violent, but no over the top. This book takes you inside the lives of prostitutes who no where to go, and work of a cruel and mean pimp named Crown. Crown provides them with the "finer things" and abuses them repeatedly. I won't give the story away, but I enjoyed the ending so much! Finally some major payback, I loved it! Unfortunately, a lot of lives are innocently taken. I really hope there is a part 2, I think there is still some unfinished business.

(4.5 Stars) A Life of Chaos,
This review is from: Dirty Little Angel (Paperback)
Danielle "Chaos" Mitchell was a young, nineteen year-old girl who worked for a ruthless pimp named Crown. Tired of running from foster home to foster home, and the death of her best friend causes Chaos to move from South Bronx to Philly to stay with her cousin Bubbles. Growing up feeling worthless, unwanted, and unloved, Chaos was put in a foster home at the tender age of five. She was given away by her mother who had issues of her own to deal with. Sexually, physically and mentally abused, Chaos wanted a new life for herself, but then she meets Crown. He knows the right thing to say and offers her a better life...but at what price? Chaos comes up with a scheme to get out of this life and free herself from the reigns of Crown. But will she be successful with her plan, or will it backfire and cost Chaos her life?
Crown had that swagger that a pimp needed to have but also had a vicious temper. Crown was known for being manipulative and turning young girls out to make money for him. Crown stayed fly from his gear, hair, shoes, his whole persona. He had this whole pimping down to a science. From recruiting to controlling his four woman, he needed his women to be obedient. Crown was the daddy and wasn't afraid to use violence to keep his women in order. He thought his women were like a piece of meat: you feed them, clothe them, and take care of them and they will never leave. But when one of his women dishonors him and leaves him for dead, he cannot let that slide and defiantly has some tricks up his sleeve. YB was a thug who only knew streets, violence, and drugs. YB's cousin Rufus was his right hand man. They each had each other's back despite the fact that YB and Rufus were complete opposites and didn't have the same principals or live by the same rules of life. Rufus saw no problem taking whatever he wanted from a woman, even if she didn't give him permission. YB on the other hand knew that you cannot be a thug 24/7. YB comes across Chaos, and there is an instant secret connection between them. YB also knows that Chaos belongs to his rival enemy Crown. YB comes up with mastermind plan to teach Crown a lesson for life. But this drastic lesson will uproot YB from Philly. Can he start over and will Chaos have his back through it all? Sweet was one of Crown's girls. She was insecure, naive, and felt unloved and unwanted when Crown met her on the bus stop. He had been scooping her out for over a month and knew that she would be a hot commodity to his business. Sweet was reeled in right away by Crown's charm. But when she becomes pregnant, she feels compelled to get out of this way of life. But when circumstances change, Sweet could enter down a deadly path with no way to return. Dirty Little Angel was a very good read. It dived deep into the world of pimps and prostitution. It showed how manipulation, no self-worth, and low self-esteem can make a person do things that they would not normally do. I believe the author Erica Hilton really held nothing back and didn't sugar-coat a thing. I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. I believe Dirty Little Angel shows how a bad situation can change in a blink of an eye. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Reviewed by Kristin for Urban Reviews

A dirty lil' read....,

I truly enjoyed this book..to my surprise, it was a great read. I like how the author broke down the street walkin' business in Philly and how naive these girls can be. But Crown was just plain evil and Harlem, that dude was just so ruthless and heartless. There were parts in the story that made me cringe and want to murder them dudes myself, that's how caught up I got. But this book definitely had it's moment, like how Chaos mother gave birth to her in a cold abandoned warehouse and was about to leave her there...yo, I wanted to cry, because situations like that happen every day in this word...but this book was gangsta, a love story, inspirational and entertaining all in one...I read this book in three days and for a first time author, Erica Hilton did her thang...definitely lookin' forward to her second novel...wonder what that's one gonna be about.

Blessing,

Danielle Chaos Mitchell gets money thanks to her exotic looks and her bodacious body. Abandoned at a young age by her mother, Chaos was abused and eventually adapted to being treated like a trash receptacle. After so much tragedy, Chaos flees the mean streets of New York in hopes of attaining a better quality life in Philly. Crown, a pimp, won her over with talk of finally having a home and a family. Perception after the fact, Chaos no longer desires to be apart of Crown's network. Only problem is, Chaos can't end her contract without severe consequences.
Crown is an addict in every way, shape and form. He loves to lull in new girls, with self esteem issues. While he mentally builds them up, he strategically tears them down and keeps them in line with his strict discipline. Crown's girls know that they are to need, respect, love, fear and make money for only him. When Crown detects that Chaos' eyes twinkle for YB, a drug dealer he has beef with, Chaos is taught an invaluable lesson. YB Toma is a legend in the making. Not only did he come from a legend, he's being taught by one of the best, Magic, a well-respected old head. Young, callous and no-nonsense, YB sometimes forgets that even in the streets there are rules. While he and Crown openly beef, YB can't deny that he's feeling Chaos. "Dirty Little Angel" written by Erica Hilton is drama-filled, yet predictable and poorly edited. Despite that, I believe a lot of readers will enjoy the story. I did enjoy the growth of the characters and liked that the ending wasn't `happily ever after.' Reviewed by: Crystal 3.5 stars

The book's title was...,

misleading. The book should've had a totally different name because there was no dirty angel to speak of. The book started off with a bang and kept the momentum going. I was so enthralled with this book that i couldn't enjoy my vacation in the Bahamas until i finished!
Chao's had it bad from the start. With a mother like hers you didn't need any enemies. Can you imagine being born into the world surrounded by hungry rats ready to devour you? Can you imagine the rats turning human and trying to finish what they were hoping to start at your birth? Crown was worse than the rats that tried to eat Chaos the day she was born. He was was a ruthless cold hearted snake that only cared for one thing and that was money. He lured women into his stable under false pretenses and promises of a better life. The only one that got a better life was Crown. If the girls disobeyed or caused him to miss out on money then he would torture them relentlessly. Crown's side kick was Harlem and he was just as bad if not worse than Crown if you can believe that. The only ones in town that didn't fear Crown and Harlem were YB, Rufus and an OG by the name of Magic. After almost being raped by a client, YB rescued Chaos from her fate sparking a forbidden relationship. Chaos and another one of Crown's girls launch a plan to break free from the gorilla pimp and start a life on their own. Sweet would raise her child that she doesn't know who the father is and Chaos would be with YB. Together they would make money without having to anwer to the likes of Crown but first they must hatch a plan to take him down with help from YB and his cousin Rufus sparking mayheim and destruction. Dirty Little Angel was gritty and a book i'd recommend to everyone. the only reason i'm giving it 4 stars is because it had major editing issues. The editing issues does not interupt the flow of the story. I can see there being a sequel even with the way the story ended. Crown's bottom bytch is still breathing and from the way she held it down for her man I can see her wanting revenge, so Chaos watch yo back! There was no happily ever after and i don't see it being one anytime soon.
