5.0 out of 5 stars OK...I liked it!
I must admit that when I first started reading this book, I wasn't feelin' it. But I kept reading and somewhere around the 4th or 5th chapter I fell in love with the story & couldn't put this book down! The storyline really had me on the edge of my seat and towards the end I couldn't read fast enough! That ending blew me away (& made me a little angry) but I just KNOW...

3.0 out of 5 stars It was pretty good...
This book was fairly good. I have already read all of their books except this one & Supreme Clientele. I could easily tell that this was their first book though. It started off verrrrrrrrry slow but eventually picked up halway through the book..I cant wait to see what happens in Supreme Clientele..until then TTYL..

5.0 out of 5 stars FLINTSTONE TURNPAGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 16, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
THIS BOOK WAS A STRAIGHT UP TURN PAGER. BIG UP TO ASHLEY AND JAQUAVIS. WHEN I FIRST READ REVIEWS AND SEEN THAT THE AUTHORS WERE FROM MY HOMETOWN FLINT, MICHIGAN I KNEW I HAD TO SUPPORT.

THEY DID THE DAMN THANG I READ LOTS OF URBAN BOOKS AND THIS IS UP THERE WITH THE GREAT ONES (TRUE TO THE GAME, COLDEST WINTER EVER, HUSTLER'S WIFE ECT). LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEQUAL.

ALTHOUGH, THIS STORY WAS SET UP IN JERSEY THEY REPRESENTED FLINT TO THE FULLEST I RECOGNIZED LOTS OF STREET NAMES AND I VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA THE AUTHORS ARE FROM. I DEFINATLEY WILL BE SUPPORTING A HOMETOWN AUTHOR AND SPREADING WORD. PLEASE DON'T SLEEP ON THESE AUTHORS. THIS BOOK IS ONE TO ADD TO THE URBAN COLLECTION...

TEE, FROM THE F-L-I-N-T

5.0 out of 5 stars Dont judge a book by its cover (This one is good), August 10, 2005
By
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
I can not believe how good this book was. I picked it up at the Harlem Book Fair. At first I wasn't going to buy it. The way the cover looked made me think twice. I'm not into the whole ghetto lit thing but the authors convinced me that their story was worth reading. I am so so happy that they talked me into buying this book. It was DA BOMB, (literally). This story had my mind so twisted up, I dont know if I loved or hated Anari but I was definitely empathetic towards her struggle. Oh yeah, and I am definitely dying to know more about that ending. I hope that there is a sequel to this book, there has to be one. It ends in an abrupt way, I was definitely not expecting two of my favorite characters to die (I dont think that they are really dead). But Anyway, I could write a ten page review about this one but I am going to leave it short and sweet. It was one of the best that I've read in a long time. Kudos to Ashley and Jaquavis! I am hooked and can't wait for the next book, hopefully the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Damn Good Book, June 21, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
If I could give this book ten stars I would. I think BET should start recognizing the African American authors because if they did Ashley and Jaquavis would definitely get some type of award. This book was GOOD! GOOD! GOOD! It took me through so many circles, I was dizzy at the end. The way it ended was the best, these authors definitely took it to another level. Anari was a straight up G. She didnt take no mess from nobody and you watched her grow throughout the book. I was tripping when I found out it was two authors too. That's why it was so good. It's one of a kind!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Good Novel (Top Ten), May 30, 2005

I picked up this book in a mall and I got a chance to meet the authors, I just got it to support my people and didn't expect this good of a book. I opened it and I could not put it down. The loops and unpredictable plot had me going in circles. I LOVED this book. It was very clever and I hope that they come out with a part two. The ending made me cry like a little baby. I fell in love with Von. I can't wait until the next book drops. When you say "pageturner" this what a real page-turner is . I loved it. This had to be a true story, it was to real!

5.0 out of 5 stars Entranced, May 24, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
Dirty Money took me to another zone. I couldn't put this book down. The author's smooth blend of literary seduction and urban grit painted a picture so vivid I felt like I was was watching a movie. The storyline takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of twists and turns to an ending that will blow you away. I'm ready for the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A STRAIGHT UP MIND BLOWER, July 17, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
OKAY FIRST I WANNA SAY THIS BOOK IS CRAZY I LOVED IT FROM THE FIRST PAGE. SEE MY GIRL WAS ANARI SHE WAS A SLICK FEMALE WHO HELD IT DOWN THE ONLY THING I DIDNT LIKE WAS THE WHOLE SITUATION WITH VON. I LOVE VON AND IF SHE WOULD HAVE SAT BACK AND LISTENED TO HER HEART THING WOULD HAVE WORKED OUT. THE END OKAY IT BLEW ME AWAY BECAUSE THEY WERE SO CLOSE BUT YET SO FAR. ITS A MUST READ AND I DONT THINK A SEQUEL SHOULD COME OUT BECAUSE EVERYONE IS GONE....BUT WHAT'S UP WITH THE LANCE AND SHAWNA THING????

5.0 out of 5 stars Ashley JaQuavis Are Great Together, July 19, 2006
This review is from: Dirty Money (Paperback)
I read Diary of a street diva first, then I went and bought Dirty Money because I enjoyed the way these two authors flowed. Dirty Money was another fast paced read that will not I REPEAT will not let you put it down. Anari is your regular average around the way girl with a dysfunctional momma who was saved by her boyfriend Maurice, He gets killed and after that Anari has to fend for herself. She ends up being to trusting and learns the hard way that life is a beeyatch. But really these are two new authors to watch. I can't wait to see what they got going on next. This book is up there with my favorites.
