5.0 out of 5 stars Scott H. Biram - like givin' your stereo whiskey & crack!!!
Scott Hiram Biram is a savage mojofied force of nature! A fire-breathing, hell-stompin' sanctified Blues boogie shaman with a beat-up Gibson in one hand and a jug of white lightening in the other. Semi-trucks can't kill him. Broken strings can't stop him. Faith healers and poultry fear him. And guitars and women crave him to take them in his hands.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed bag
I don't dislike this album but I probably skip more tracks here than on any of his other albums, including _This is Kingsbury_, which doesn't even play in my car stereo.

There are better versions of a few of these songs on other albums ("Throw a Boogie" on _Lo-Fi Mojo_, for instance). Biram's live performances tend to be frenetic and aimed more at keeping the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Scott H. Biram - like givin' your stereo whiskey & crack!!!, March 25, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Old One Man Band (Audio CD)
Scott Hiram Biram is a savage mojofied force of nature! A fire-breathing, hell-stompin' sanctified Blues boogie shaman with a beat-up Gibson in one hand and a jug of white lightening in the other. Semi-trucks can't kill him. Broken strings can't stop him. Faith healers and poultry fear him. And guitars and women crave him to take them in his hands.

With a wicked hoodoo intensity somewhere between R.L.Burnside and Mojo Nixon, Biram is the real thing cranked up to eleven. This Austin favorite defies labels and genres with a gonzo gumbo that's equall parts jukesjoint and honkytonk.

Mix the DNA from Mance Lipscomb, Mike Ness, Hasil Adkins, Jimmy Martin & Jimmy Rodgers, let it ferment in a trailer in Boone County under a full moon, had it birthed by Big Mama Thornton, blessed by Little Richard and then plugged into a vintage tube amp and cranked up to eleven - you might have a rough idea of the kinda juju this hillbilly wildman is puttin' down!

If you love Blues, Hillbilly, Delta Stomp and Hellfire Field Hollers - this is the stuff your evil heart craves. Run don't walk and get this CD today! Put it in your player and give your stereo a hard-on! And tell'em Cousin Wildweed sentcha!!!!

Scott H. Biram blends Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Rock as well as Gospel together in a unique thrill ride of an album. Scott's energy pulses throughout the album. Give it a listen and you will be a fan. And remember to catch this One-Man-Band live if you ever get the chance!

If you think you hate country, give this CD a listen. You just might reconsider

Its about as far from radio crap as you can get.

Almost makes you want to be a truck driver.

If you like old style country also check out the Weary Boys.

They play with Biram sometimes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tie a Knot in the Devil's Tail and buy this CD!!!!, April 13, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Old One Man Band (Audio CD)
Anyone who has ever seen Scott H. Biram's live show already knows why you need this CD. This is a great sampling of how Scott's music can take you up to heaven from the depths of hell, spank you on your bare butt, and send you back down to fight the devil for your soul (with a shot of whiskey for the road, of course). Blood, Sweat, and Murder... 'nuff said.

5.0 out of 5 stars Biram is the King of Hellbilly Blues!!!!, March 24, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Old One Man Band (Audio CD)
I was lucky enough to see Scott H. Biram live when he opened for Hank III about a year ago and i've been a fan of his ever since. I was so excited when i heard about this album, and it turned out to be everything I expected and more. Its got a little bit of rock, blues, and old timey country. He even covers an old bluegrass song i grew up listening to. This album is for anyone who loves great music. Go buy it right now!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reincarnation, August 19, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Old One Man Band (Audio CD)
Was Robert Johnson reincarnated into a white truck driver? I'm not even sure what that means, but it's the only way to descibe Scott H. Biram.

His CD's are amazing, however they do not do him justice. You have to see him live to fully appreciate his talents.
