That's it????,
By KAT "THE ONE AND ONLY KAT" (Brooklyn, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirty Red: A Novel (Hardcover)
I not a big fan for her books (we had to wait damn near TWO years for part II of Let that be the reason) but i decided to give this one a try. It's not as a exciting as you would think. Every one wants a piece of Red blah blah blah. She's 18 and pretty much has everything and everone wrapped around her fingers. The books seems alittle bit rushed along. I didn't really find the the main point of the story other that Red is a golddigger.I would say this book is alright if you are into immature ghetto books. Oh and b4 I forget.....I HATE THE ENDING. But then again that's how most of her books end.....with a question mark. ENJOY!

Dirty Red Was A Dirty Beeyatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
By N. Powell "topazzz6" (Albany,NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirty Red: A Novel (Hardcover)
This was truly a fast paced action packed novel. Raven "Red" Gomez was the kind of character that you love to hate. The reader will find themselves rooting for Red in her scheming. She has nothing but snakes around her, they all want something from her. Although Red is greasy herself she does have a heart. I was reading this book so fast my heart started to to palpitate the only thing that made me mad was that it was over toooooo soon. Well peeps Vickie has done the damn thing again. I also liked the way Vickie threw a little K'wan flavor in their by the way of Bacon, Red's locked up boyfriend.

Tired Of Dirty Reading,
By DeeJay "Book Lover" (Georgia) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dirty Red: A Novel (Paperback)
Although it was an okay read, this book got on my last nerve. I'm so sick of reading about trifling, gut-bucket, hood-rat, trifling females who will do anything and specialize in laying on their backs to support their ghetto lifestyles of the rich and famous. There are so many of these degrading books in print until I'm getting turned off with reading "Urban" novels. This one, although I love Vicki Stringer, is at the top of my list of all time trifling female characters. Although well written and catchy which Ms. Stringer is great at, I'm very sick of the story line.

What a Downer,
This review is from: Dirty Red: A Novel (Hardcover)
After reading the reviews in Essence and on this website, I was really excited about reading this book. Boy was I in for a letdown. This is not the fast-paced page turner that everyone touts it as. As a matter of fact it took me almost two months to finish.
As with a lot of these urban tales (and I hate to generalize) you can safely hypothesize the outcome about three chapters in. Even so, I was not impressed with the story line or character development. I have really grown weary of authors doing a very poor job of trying to re-create The Coldest Winter Ever.

When I read her first two novels I was impressed and intrigued by what she did to survive and feed her son. I was not impressed w/the stories in themselves, however DIRTY RED!!!!:) was off the hook, line and sinker. I must say this here is a read you must read and a book you will ENJOY!!!!!!

Scandalous Red,
By Luv Tamm "Reading Keeps Me Sane" (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dirty Red: A Novel (Hardcover)
Red was a straight up devil I mean she lived to be evil. Red was all about scheming and scamming for a buck, money was all that made her happy. Then there was Q she told him she was pregnant for of course money, he was a real dude and he broght alone real feeling for her till he find out that she was pregnant by her ex-boyfriend in prison name Bacon so all kinds of drama unfolds. Now she turns her hard heart soft but it might be to late, I not telling. I give it four starts cause I wanted her to get delt with at the end so with that being said I hope for a sequel soon. This is a good fast pace nonstop action book.

THIS WAS A VERY, VERY GOOD BOOK. VICKIE STRINGER DID HER THING.
RED IS BLACK AND PUERTO RICAN FEMALE WHO HAS NO HEART. HER FATHER DIED WHEN SHE WAS A TODDLER AND HER MOTHER, WELL SHE'S A WOMAN WHO HAS CHOSEN HER MAN OVER HER CHILD. RED IS MOLESTED UP UNTIL SHE LEAVES HER MOTHER'S HOME BY HER BOYFRIEND, JEROME. HER MOTHER DOES NOT BELIEVE HER, SO RED LEAVES. THE FIRST MAN TO BREAK HER HEART WAS BLUE, BUT SHE DID NOT LET HIM OFF THE HOOK, SHE TRASHED HIS BENZ. NEXT WAS BACON, HE LOVED HER, BUT RED DIDN'T LOVE HIM. HE DO TOO MUCH FOR HER, THEN HE GETS 20 YRS. NEXT IS Q, RED FAKES BEING PREGNANT TO GET MONEY, BUT HER FEELINGS SOON GETS INVOLVED. RED DOES EVERYONE DIRTY, TIL THE POINT THEY TRY TO GET HER BACK, BUT IT'S TO NO AVAIL. THIS WAS TOO GOOD, AND THE WAY THE BOOK, ENDED EITHER IT'LL BE A PART 2 OR THAT'S HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO END. SHE WAS A GRIMY B@$ THAT ENDED UP FINDING LOVE.

Red is the dirtiest woman I have ever read about! It was a captivating read I could not put it down. The end was not good to me but to the author's credit I will pick up the sequel.
