5.0 out of 5 stars Add a little spice to your sugar
This was just the sassy ticket to bring a bit of zest to the bedroom and beyond. Stanton starts off slow, taking newbies by the hand and leading them into the promised land of pillow talk. I thought it gave great advice for a good girl looking to be so bad it's good. And the book itself is a cute as a button, with a velvet cover and metallic illustrations. It makes a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Only an outline
I went to the bookstore and read the whole book in 5 minutes. One sentence per page, with the facing page having a cartoon picture. It only offers basic ideas, ones which I'm sure you already have. For those of us who are quiet, nice girls, it gives no dirty scripting on what to actually say. Perhaps renting some x movies and taking notes would be a better idea... do they...

1.0 out of 5 stars Tell me something that I dont know!, January 22, 2007
This review is from: Dirty Talk: Speak the Language of Lust (Hardcover)
Dont waste your time or your money.
This book essentially tells you to search your heart and you will find the right words to say.
Well duh...did that...wasnt exactly working, thats why I bought the book!
If you're looking for "flowery" words or sexy suggestions, you will be very disappointed. I'm sure the writer meant well, but the bottom line is, is that this book didnt help me to discover anything that I did not already know!

This book does not deliver what it promises. Quite dull with ordinary language and no real helpful hints.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish AND sexy, June 8, 2008
This review is from: Dirty Talk: Speak the Language of Lust (Hardcover)
What I like about this book is that it's witty and sexy, dirty enough to get it done but a nice step above garden variety porn. Some great ideas and I love that it's about what works for you - and making you comfortable with talking about it - versus just some scripted trash. Nice illos too!

You'd be better off reading Cosmopolitan Magazine for advice on sexy talk than this book. This book is completely lacking in substance except for the red velvet cover. I do not recomend this book at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quick and Fun, February 23, 2011
Lynne Stanton has kept it short and simple in this book that take's a best girlfriend's tone of: "Come on - you can do it!", using charm and humor to get through to the truly tongue tied. Stan Chow's illustrations make it all very entertaining. There are enough useful ideas for even those who never quite get up the nerve (writing notes and reading dirty stories are suggested to 'work up to it').

The book does make a focus of learning dirty talk with a willing and understanding partner, so some singles may have to take care of finding one of those first. This is also not for anyone looking train up for professional phone sex. This a really cute instructional manual for the shy girl or guy. The extra money spent on the red velvet cover and gold detailing would make it a great gift book for a bridal shower or Valentine's Day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, April 24, 2007

I did not finish reading the book. However, It started out so well. I'd finish it if I had the time. I believe what it says is true. We just do not pay much attention to what we should do or say about dirty talk. It shows you some simple ways and methods to practice with yourself before actually turning into a "dirty talker." It gives some examples of movies to watch and phrases to read out loud. Also some stories or novels. It tries to make you comfortable in using such "dirty" words. Getting used to your own voice saying them. Reading through it is just like reading through a diary. The cover book is red made with fabric and golden text.
