(2) IMDb 7.1/10

Part bawdy bedroom farce, part zany crime caper, this saucy British romp stars Martin Clunes (Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly) as a charming underachiever on the run from the law. Sure, he's manipulative, moneygrubbing, and completely amoral. But is he a murderer? Absolutely not, he insists--despite the pesky corpses piling up.

As in (Part 1) this a study of the full range of sociopathic persons and behavior that swirl around two deaths that officialdom would treat as murders but were truly accidents and the way the characters in the story worked the murder angle striving to benefit themselves by screwing, framing and humiliating those around them. The only sympathetic character was a junior police officer who was painfully innocent and whose competence was only in not being sociopathic but to anxiously offer to get tea for everyone. The device of the lead character often speaking to the audience in little stop-action video asides proudly to explain his machinations was odd and seemed to imply that somehow he survived in the end. But at the end of Part 2 it was apparent that the lead character would suffer a horrible end. A strange and unsettling story but great to see Martin Clunes' range.

I am hooked on Clune and it doesn't matter what he does, I am going to watch it. I wish there was more.
