Dirty Deeds,

This review is from: Mo' Dirty (Urban Books) (Paperback)
Mo'Dirty Still Stuntin' by Darrell King is a street-lit novel giving the reader knowledge on gang rivals, drug deals gone wrong, and King Pins making money while locked up for life. Whiskey Battle is a well-known street enforcer and for the right price he can provide you with the drug of your choice; arrange a murder or plot to take down anyone who gets in his way of living the American dream.
This story takes place in Savannah,Georgia where the drug game is in full force and the cops ride on both sides of the fence. Knowing who to pay off and finding a good supplier are the least of this street teams problems. They are dealing with the Chief of Police Mickey O'Malley and his goal is to take down all drug dealers and corrupt cops. When a plot is hatched to ax O'Malley, will Whiskey come out standing or will he be amongst the corpses, or imprisoned gang members? Stay tuned while you go on this ride to finding redemption. Although, Mo' Dirty Still Stuntin' lacked action and the pacing was slow, it was still a good read and I recommend to readers of street literature. Reviewed by: Cheryl H APOOO BookClub

I really enjoy reading a novel depicting gangs and gang rivalry.
This is one of the reasons I was really looking forward to reading Mo Dirty by Darrell King. Mo Dirty starts off with a bang (always appreciated in this type of book). A well-known hustler and preacher is gunned down - thanks to a contract that was put out on him by his own fiancé - the reason? She was tired of him cheating on her!!! I love it! The killing introduces us to Whiskey who will be at the center of this novel. Mo Dirty holds nothing back - we get a very detailed look at gangs and everything they stand for - including drug deals and a lot of violence. We also get to meet the gang leaders who believe they are larger than life - and expect you to believe the same thing. While this book has some thrilling and entertaining moments, it did not manage to engage me as much as I would have liked. None of the characters are particularly likeable and that's to be expected in this type of book, however, there is so much gratuitous violence and so much overall stupidity within the characters that it felt all a little bit too much for me. The writing was good and the author does know how to move a storyline along, which makes this book an okay read.

A Gritty Page-Turner!,
This review is from: Mo' Dirty (Urban Books) (Paperback)
Marion "Snookey" Lake may be behind bars, but his legacy in the drug game continues with his son Whiskey Battle. Whiskey is the enforcer for the Bad Boyz II Syndicate, a dangerous gang that has control over the narcotics coming into Savannah, Georgia. He does whatever he needs to do to survive. Whiskey and his crew face a huge obstacle when a police chief steps up his efforts with getting drugs off the streets. With rogue cops and other hustlers on their side, will Whiskey's crew still be able to come out on top?
Mo' Dirty is a fast-paced sequel to Dirty South by Darrell King. Although this story is a sequel, you can easily read this book as a stand-alone novel. King pulls the reader into the dangerous world of the southern drug game. This story is full of non-stop drama, police corruption, and murder that will keep readers glued to the pages. Mo' Dirty is a gritty page-turner that will keep you guessing until the very end. Reviewed by Radiah Hubbert for Urban Reviews
