4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Mountaineering, March 11, 2005

This review is from: Wet Glass (Apparel)
I was looking for a pair of sunglasses that were polarized, well constructed and importantly had good airflow around the lens. This pair did that and i was very impressed. I use them to go mountaineering in the NZ Alps and in summer even though you are at altitude and snow is everywhere you can still sweat like a pig. With other glasses the lenses would fog up and i would have sweat mixed with sun block drip down and render the sunglass unusable. Having sufferred from snow blindness once before that's one thing i don't want to repeat. So i need glasses that reduce the fogging. The dirty dog design does that with air holes and a really good hydrophobic coating. Anybody who has been in an Alpine region knows what a difference polarisation makes in viewing clarity so i'll never go back to normal lenses, and the lens colour certainly reduces the strain on the eyes. The glasses have superb coverage against the sun, and the only improvement i could suggest is to have a nose shade and perhaps some sort of sweat band. The lens durability is also pretty good although i guess i would prefer glass as they still scratch. Since i was silly enough to lose my last pair i know this is what i want to get again.
