5.0 out of 5 stars Light years better than anything on radio
How 7m3 can't get a song on radio these days is beyond me. I'm afraid Seven Mary Three may always be a "one hit wonder" in the eyes of the world, which is a crying shame. They're putting out better music these days than nearly every popular band out there. Problem is, they can't get a deal, or support from a major record label. Perhaps because of the "one hit wonder"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, yes; great, hardly
This is nothing short of an average cd from the world of today's rock. There is nothing cutting edge, nor is there anything mindblowing on any of the tracks. Without You Feels and By Your Side are arguably the best songs, both being catchy tunes, but like one of the songs says, there isn't much bite behind the bark that proclaims that 7m3 is back. Don't get me wrong;...

I've owned Dis/Location since the day it came out, and I've played it so much that I don't know it can even still work. Jason Ross's lyrics are pure brilliance. It's really what attracts me to the band. He's a poet, and his lyrics really hit home with me. Stand out songs on the CD are "Settle Up", "Without You Feels", "Bark No Bite", "Blue Letter", and "Made to be Broken".

If any non 7m3 fan comes across this review, I urge you to do yourself a favor and get this CD. You'll be treating yourself to hours and hours of listening pleasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who knew 7M3 could still jam, March 14, 2005
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
Man, oh, man, if only people could hear this cd, I mean, its great. It's a shame that no one will hear about this album, because it's really good, a little different that past 7M3 cd's, but thats not a bad thing. Stand out tracks are By your side, Dislocated, settle up, and of course, Without you feels. Pick this up, its a cross between old STP and the early 7M3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life Since American Standard, A Fabulous Journey, July 26, 2005
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
I wasn't going to write this review until I needed to replace my copy that got jacked out of my car and I read the last two reviews here.

This review is really directed towards those who may have missed 7M3's last few albums.

Seven Mary Three surely saw the height of their fame with their debut album-American Standard, at least in terms of radio play. For true fans of this band, or just good music, that CD was only a beginning. American Standard was a solid disc, quality songs surrounding a few true standout singles that everyone knows. Since then the band has created truely complete, incredible albums.

7M3's music life since American Standard has been a fabulous journey with Dis/Location as a wonderful destination. This album is prime example of what amazing music can be produced when a band is brave enough to evolve past the commericalization and pressure that major record labels put on musicians.

If you're someone who wants highlight songs, just look at the track listing.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's no American Standard but.........., December 9, 2004

I think this is one of those cd's you can listen to all the way through without being disappointed or having to skip any of the songs. I use to love American Standard and 7 Mary 3 played at a local county fair in summer and I just had to go and I enjoyed all their new stuff even though I never heard it before and bought the cd right after the concert. I love it and still listen to it at least 6 times a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars 7M3 Keeps on Rockin, June 3, 2004
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
Over the last decade very few bands have been able to maintain the quality of their music while allowing themselves to evolve and grow as musicians. Seven Mary Three is one of those rare bands. Dis/Location is a no-holds-barred rocker from start to finish. In your face songs like "Settle Up", "Bark No Bite", and "Dislocated" will satisfy anyone simply looking for the next Cumbersome. For anyone looking for something more, Seven Mary Three doesn't disappoint. Those gems are surrounded by some of the best music out there today. Standouts include "Blue Letter", "Oceans of Envy", and "Found my Center". From start to finish you cannot go wrong with this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars First class redemption, May 15, 2004

This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
Seven Mary Three dropped out of the spotlight, especially after the "Orange Avenue" album, and deservingly so. Only the hardcore fans bought "The Economy of Sound", and after that album, the boys of 7m3 switched record labels once again.

Enter the DRT Entertainment era... and the year 2004. Seven Mary Three has finally done it. They have finally duplicated the originality they brought to the table with their first two CD's. Dis/Location is absolutely brilliant in every fascet. If this album fails to sell, and fails to get recognition, pin the blame on the new record label, not on the band. From start to finish, this album is absolutely incredible. There are 4 or 5 songs on the album that could get some serious radio airplay. Unforunately, since the "RockCrown" album, 7m3 hasn't produced too many radio friendly songs.

I'll go ahead and mention the radio quality songs... "Without You Feels", "Bark No Bite", "Blue Letter", "By Your Side", and "Made to be Broken". All terrific songs in every regard. I'm looking forward to seeing Seven Mary Three receive some recognition for this album. If not, DRT Entertainment, their new label, needs to hire a new head of marketing. They have a gold mine in 7m3 and this new album... market away, boys. Tap into that bank account, and get this album some airplay. This is the best Rock album of 2004, no doubt about it. I'll bet the farm on that.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Solid, Modern Effort, November 3, 2005
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
I "discovered" 7M3 with their mid-nineties offering "American Standard". I really liked it. I have bought a few of their other albums since then, but didn't really "get into them". Dislocation changed that. From the very first listen, I knew this was gonna be a disc that would see some significant playing time in my cd player and in my car.

I have to admit, I mostly like straight-forward Rock. And that's what you get. It has a slightly modern feel to it. I don't know why it's not getting any air-play along with other modern rock bands such as Nickleback, Staind, Theory of a Deadman, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2, better than what some reviewers are saying, September 25, 2005
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
I can't believe that some people don't like this album...it's just so, good!

I agree with the one reviewer that is wondering how 7M3 can't get radio play. Without You Feels would make an amazing single, and would definitely bring them up to "2-Hit Wonder" status, because it's an absolutely fantastic song. That being said, so are Settle Up, Dislocation, Bark No Bite, Oceans of Envy, Made to Be Broken, and basically the rest of the album.

It's a completely different sound than anything else they've done, and I think they took a turn for the better. I loved American Standard and Economy of Sound (Rock Crown and Orange Ave. were very good too, but not in comparison), but this CD is just incredible.

Do yourselves a favor, give these guys a chance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soild Record From A Great Band That Too Few Notice, July 17, 2004
This review is from: Dis/Location (Audio CD)
DIS/LOCATION might be the follow up to American Standard that everyone was screaming for 10 years ago. So if you haven't been a fan of 7M3 since Rockcrown (which is an amazing record along with all of their others) this album could be the one to get you back in the 7M3 Fan Club.

Jason Ross has turned back on the distortion and said hello to new guitarist and songwriter Thomas Juliano; all without losing any of what has made 7M3 a better band since American Standard. "Without You Feels", "Made to be Broken", and "Oceans of Envy" would all get airplay if radio stations would give them a chance. And if you are looking for the grit and rock of the American Standard 7M3, look no farther than "Settle Up", "Bark No Bite" or "Dislocation" After a couple of listen you will also begin to appreciate "Where Are You Calling From?' and "Subway Tunnel Microphones."

All the above being said...don't expect to hear American Standard. DIS/LOCATION is a much better, more balanced, and more mature record than that. I think anyone who gives it a chance will love it.

rock in the mix and did a damn fine job of it. Seven mary three has come along way with having a successful hit single wich really ruined there carreer, you mite have heard it Cumbersome. A lot of people refer to it as the cucumber song now, because it was played out so much. People began to make fun of it. Everything else Seven mary three put out was so different and better than there debut, people kinda brushed i off that the band even still existed. It's a shame that they're kinda known as the cumber some band. Although, this is a great cd, unless they put out Blue letter or where are you calling from as single, then the band mite have to get 2nd day jobs to pay the bills.
