Shimmering Beach Boys harmonies + solid toonage = Silver Sun heaven.

One's first Silver Sun experience can be a bit disconcerting because the music is first of all so damn sunny! And then there are those high-tone vocals which come dangerously close to approximating The Chipmunks. But maybe that's what makes it so unique and, ultimately, so addictive.

It would be nice if Amazon could provide at least one song sample here (ahem) because this stuff is so hook-heavy that even one of those pathetically small mp3s would be ample bait for s/he who is fishing for an authentic power-pop punch.

Even if you can only afford a used copy (and I know that's all I can afford!), don't let this one get away. It will provide hours and hours of quality listening pleasure.

A perfect mixture of THE BEACH BOYS, CHEAP TRICK & THE RAMONES! Ultra-Melodic and relentlessly catchy! The sound samples only give you a tiny fraction of the VERY BIG sound of this solid power pop LP! If you've been missing the old classic radio song sounds of the 80s (and thought they didn't make music like that anymore) then you really NEED to check out this one! Their earlier LPs (which aren't currently available for download here) are EVEN BETTER! I'm not kidding! Silver Sun is sheer melodic BLISS!
