When I read the description of the book, I was definitely intrigued. I thought the plot about a missing person showing up years later looking exactly the same sounded really interesting. This proved true throughout the book. The plot was good and kept me reading.

However, the biggest flaw was that the author introduces way too many characters and individual plot lines. Every chapter or so, a new character appears and you need to remember details about them to follow during the rest of the book. I have a good memory, but when you get so many names and details, I just couldn't follow it all. That became really frustrating. Even 3/4 of the way through, new characters were popping up all over the place.

I did read the entire book because the author does keep you wondering what's going to happen next, but I was glad when it was over and I didn't need to strain my brain anymore to remember all the characters and their stories.

This book starts off with an intriguing premise, but then really rambles for a while. As another poster noted, new characters appear in almost every chapter, making it a little hard to keep track of. (Hint: when reading on the Kindle, you can search for the name to refresh your memory of the other times they were mentioned.) I almost stopped reading, but kept going because the mystery was compelling, and I really wanted to see how it would all fit together in the end. And the end was quite satisfying (although there is one detail that nags at me that I think was not consistent).

Note: I received a free review copy of the ebook.

This is an interesting and complex mystery story. It was well written, and very well edited, which made for an enjoyable read. I guessed and second-guessed myself throughout, too. I love that! I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. I liked it so much that I'm going to look for more titles by this author.

I love to read, and rarely does a book put me to sleep, but every time I tried to read this, off to dreamland I went. I forced myself to read the entire book just out of curiosity. Although I thought the plot was interesting, how does a dead body reappear 18 years after going missing without signs of aging, this book was very slow moving. There was a lot of jumping from one set of characters to another, which I found somewhat confusing. The transitions were not smooth. You're reading one story line about a character, space for paragraph, and "Oh, this is now about someone else." I had to keep going back to see which characters I was reading about. This is not an action mystery by any means. The most action comes at the end. That was the only part I read without falling asleep.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.

The description of this book had me very interested. It was moved to the top of my list. I liked the characters and was very interested to read it all the way through to find out what all happened in the book. It took longer than I would like and I kept getting thrown off and had to go back and reread parts. This is mostly due to having so many characters in the book. Also, the fact that you jump around from character to character way too frequently.

I did read the whole book cause I wanted to know how it ended. I am glad I read it but I don't know that I would reread it.

Luckily I started reading "Disappear" in midafternoon, because I had to keep going till ten pm to reach the last page (which added a fun little twist, BTW). Stop for supper? No, just hand me a sandwich!
As other reviewers say, Henn juggles a lot of characters. To me, showing how the events involved and affected a wide range of people made the plot a bit more real-life, which was important when the premise had me wondering if Henn had gone off the paranormal deep end.
Happily, he brought it all home at the end.
If you like "Disappear," grab "The Delta Chain" too. I enjoyed that even more.

I generally don't read a lot of the suspense thriller type of novels but I sensed this one might be different, I was right. This has something for everybody, intrigue, some fairly graphic violence, romance and a touch of the unknown. I would highly recommend it. Very good read.

"Disappear" is great. It blends suspense, mystery, horror, and action into a swirling whirlpool of prose that draws the reader in and keeps you until you reach the end.

A good read, interesting story line. While reading just remember the saying, "anything is possible" the story will become very intriguing and well put together to hold your interest
