Book Description

September 30, 2009
What do you get if you combine a quirky, modern girl detective novel with a fun and funky road trip adventure and then throw in a liberal dash of Native American culture? "Disappearance at Mexican Hat" is the story of three young friends who set out from Santa Fe in a pink 1960 Rambler station wagon to rescue a missing millionaire. What they discover about themselves and each other along the way makes for fascinating reading. Set amidst the awe-inspiring scenery of the American Southwest and featuring a diverse and intriguing cast of characters that will spring to life in your imagination, "Disappearance at Mexican Hat" is a must-read! This is the first novel in the Rae and Remy adventure series. Although written in a style inspired by the classic girl detective novels of the 1940's, this book is intended for mature readers.

Having lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico for many years, this story and its characters are right-on. By the time you finish this book, you feel as though you know Remy and Rae and hope to spend more time with them -- I was so pleased to see that there will be more books in a series. I can't wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Disapearance at Mexican Hat, April 8, 2011

This review is from: Disappearance at Mexican Hat: a Rae and Remy Adventure (Paperback)
This was one of the best written lesbian books I have read. The author is obvioulsy well versed in literature which is a breath of fresh air. She depicts the areas of Utah and New Mexico with vivid prose and her characters are real and endearing. The nature of the book deals with a touch of the supernatural and the nature of Native Americans is well depicted. This was a cozy mystery and an easy read. Can't wait for the next book.
