5.0 out of 5 stars A light hearted look at domesticated rabbits.
Not since Alice chased the ever elusive white rabbit down the rabbit hole has the furry mammal achieved such literary notice. Unlike Alice's white rabbit, these rabbits do not wear a watch or a waistcoat...and, I don't believe they are late for anything. Nevertheless they do have a charismatic flair about them. Their facial expressions say it all. Of course, the author...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute!
Very cute pictures of bunnies and what they might be thinking. Should put a smile on your face. I wish I would have thought of doing something like this with my bunnies. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A light hearted look at domesticated rabbits., October 19, 2007
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
Not since Alice chased the ever elusive white rabbit down the rabbit hole has the furry mammal achieved such literary notice. Unlike Alice's white rabbit, these rabbits do not wear a watch or a waistcoat...and, I don't believe they are late for anything. Nevertheless they do have a charismatic flair about them. Their facial expressions say it all. Of course, the author amusingly attaches her own facial translations to each picture. She is witty and the rabbits are just, well, themselves. I'm glad they aren't posed in dangerously precarious situations in order to get a laugh. No, they are being the rabbits that they are within their normal everyday domesticated life. That in itself makes the book even more uniquely clever. Set it on your coffee table and entertain your guests with this whimsical conversation starter.

5.0 out of 5 stars None of US disapprove, October 21, 2007
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
This book is 170 pictures of sour, disapproving rabbits, including their snide comments. One of our rabbits, Benson, disapproved so much he ate pages 85 and 86. If you are sour after working your way through, well, you are probably not human.

CHICO, THE BEDROOM RABBIT, AND I LAUGHED ALL THE WAY THROUGH IT. THE CAPTIONS WERE GREAT, THE PICTURES AMAZING!

We have a rabbit named The Princess who is a close ringer for the page 38 model, and I know my insufficiencies wound her to the core - she has a "look" to readily let me know.

THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE A GUY, PLUS YOU DON'T READ HER MIND FAST ENOUGH. YOU COULD PRACTICE ON ME.

Uh, I don't think so. Anyway, the 12 rabbits in our house took a vote and would have given it 5 carrots if pages 85 and 86 had not been defaced. They all disapprove so easily.

AND THEY ALSO SAID "HOORAY FOR SHARON!" FOR CREATING A BOOK ABOUT RABBITS THAT IS FUNNY. RABBITS ARE VERY FUNNY. AND CLEVER. NOW ALL 12 ARE VIBRATING WITH ANTICIPATION FOR SHARON'S NEXT BOOK, WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY BE EVEN MORE ABOUT RABBITS.

If you like rabbits you will like this book. If you don't like this book, well, we disapprove.

WHO COULD NOT LIKE RABBITS? DOGS AND CATS ARE SO "LAST YEAR!" THIS IS THE TIME OF THE RABBIT. LET THE FESTIVITIES BEGIN!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterical, October 22, 2007
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
I bought this book at the store last week and am going to buy a bunch more off of Amazon because it's side-splittingly funny. The pictures are a hoot and the captions are so humorous. I, too, am going to give these away for the holidays. And I don't own nor have I ever owned a rabbit. Everyone can appreciate this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars For all bunny lovers!, November 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
There is a special kind of person who gets into rabbits, and for that person, this is a find! The website from which the book was adapted is hysterically funny, and deserves a look as well. My bunnies have disapproved of this book enough to give me several new and unique disapprovals of their own, which we are photographing and captioning for ourselves. I already have two extra copies for my holiday gift-giving!

5.0 out of 5 stars Disapproving or Disproved?, February 29, 2008
By
Winslow Bunny "Winslow_Bunny" (Rockledge, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
"Disapproving Rabbits" is a fun book showing many pictures of rabbits with captions showing a disapproving nature. It's all in fun, some pictures and words quite funny, and is a good book to get a few laughs or more. Now, in all honesty, I should say that rabbits are a closed-mouth bunch, by-and-large, and there are several ways of taking their expression, in addition to disapproval: they could be excellent poker players, could be pessimists knowing that just around the corner from any joy is danger and/or disappointment, or they are a whole lot more perspective of human beings than we give them credit for. Any or all of these three reasons would be enough to keep the emotion off the face of any rabbit, as I may attest. However, if the author chooses to interpret our look as one of disapproval for the sake of humor, I'm sure that your average rabbit would be most happy to accept this slight misinterpretation of the truth, as rabbits are a fun-loving bunch who enjoy a hearty laugh as much as your normal human being. And, this book provides many such laughs and light entertainment, not to mention fine pictures of rabbits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straight from the Rabbit's Mouth, December 23, 2007
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
Hi, I'm Wallace, Meredith's rabbit.

Since I disapprove of her reviews, I insisted upon reviewing this book myself. First of all, I don't actually disapprove of EVERYTHING she does---just most things. For example she can give me as many treats as she wants and pet me. So, I felt the book misrepresented me on that count.

But other than that, it was great!!! Finally a writer understands me. Humans do need to come up to our rabbit standards. It's a real problem you need to address. Also, if you are having a hard time undertanding your rabbit, use this book to match up their expressions with the pictures and captions and you will figure it out even if you are just a human.

It is a must read. Now I will get back to my disapproval...

5.0 out of 5 stars Woo Hoo!, May 20, 2008
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
I've been sharing my life with house rabbits for over ten years. I've got to say that this book is a barrel of laughs. Having known bunnies with 'tude, I can say that, despite their excellent senses of humor, they are also masters of disapproval. From "Sorry, slave, but that lettuce isn't organic" to "Go ahead, make me get off this couch," their faces are so full of expression! It's amazing to see how so much intelligence and emotion are packed into those little fur bodies.

If you own a rabbit, or know someone who owns a rabbit, or if you have ever seen a rabbit, you can see just what Sharon Stiteler is talking about in this book.
The captions are funny enough to make you cry. The photos showcase the ongoing and lethal disapproval of rabbits. I loved this book and recommend it to anyone who needs a good belly laugh!

More, Sharon Stiteler! Give us more!

5.0 out of 5 stars We Approve!, October 19, 2007
This review is from: Disapproving Rabbits (Paperback)
Living with our own house rabbit, we've known major disapproval. Sharon Stiteler's book is a hilarious look at this lapine personality trait. The funny bunny pictures are cute and the captions clever and very entertaining. It's a perfect gift for any animal lover.
