About the Author

Nate Flexer was born in 1974 in New York City. In addition to his work as a crime fiction writer, he is also very interested in the behavior and evolutionary history of cockroaches. Flexer currently lives in a ghost town somewhere in Colorado.

This book is a great trip into a mind that is slowly falling to pieces. I think it is appropriate to compare this work with Allan Guthrie's (whos blurb sold me on this book). I don't think Flexer is quite at the level of Guthrie, but boy is he nipping at his heels. This book has many laugh-out-loud moments and the ending is brilliant. I think this book deserves its kudos, as it delivers on many levels. The lovers of dark, disturbing noir should enjoy this one and should included Flexer in their "read everything he publishes" category.

Following in the footsteps of Jim Thompson, Nate Flexer has written a chilling crime novel, with enough humor to keep it enjoyable. The narrator, Frankie Avicious, is incredibly warped, yet you can't help but root for him as he wreaks havic throughout the town of Huerfano, Arizona. In addition to traditional noir themes, there are elements of surrealism and slapstick comedy. But nothing will prepare you for the ending when Frankie gets all that he deserves, and then some.

This is a disgusting work of art. Frankie is about as creepy as they come. Great book! Reads at a fast pace. I love it. But, you feel like you need to shower after reading. I guess that's the author's desired affect?
