Classic (GREAT) Klutz Press: lots of photos and cool stuff, February 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Disaster Science (Spiral-bound)
This book keeps the tradition of Klutz Press alive; it's packed with wonderful photos of before and after disasters (e.g. Building Standing vs Building after earthquake). It's a wonderful coffee table book, primarily, perhaps, for boys and men who like things that blow up, fall down, get washed away, etc. Unlike most other Klutz books, there're not many to-do activities. But the photos will keep the clan gathered around ou-ing and ah-ing. It gives brief explanations of how various disasters occur: floods, rogue waves, deliberate crashing of a 42,000 pound F-4 phantom jet into a 12-foot thick wall... at 480 mph. (If that last one got your attention, this is the book for you!)

This book had great photos. The before and after lift-up flaps really helped show me how amazing the forces of nature are! It was also very funny and I spent hours looking at it.

Everyone in the family was amazed by the spectacular photographs in "Disaster Science". It's the kind of book you can look at again and again. It's definitely a FUN, edgucational book, that all kids ( and moms and dads) would find very interesting.
