brief and beautifully presented,

This small book contains life stories of the greatest of the Buddha's disciples as well as stories of less well known figures, including several women. It is smoothly written, and very affecting. Compact and easy to carry, inexpensive. An excellent introduction to the beauty of the early Buddhist Sangha. I have read it numerous times over many years and the stories are part of me now.
