Review
"If you don t know where you have been, you will have a hard time discovering where you ought to go. Every institution, family, nation, religion, has a unique story that defines its essence, and each new generation must hear it. Without these stories little hope can be generated for the development of a common future-oriented covenant. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has a story. Linn and Kinnamon tell it, and use it as a way to point to what they see to be a vital future. While not uncritical of the denomination s current malaise, they devoutly maintain that our best days are still to come." ---Charles Bayer, coordinator for Progressive Christians Uniting and author of
