A "must-buy" book for small-group leaders.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Discipleship Journal's 101 Best Small Group Ideas (Paperback)
The first part of this practical handbook presents twenty-one suggestions for small-group leaders who want to plant, water and grow healthy small groups. The second part gives eighty hands-on ideas for immediate use in small groups. Areas covered are Bible Study, Prayer, Fellowship, Evangelism, Serving, and Missions. The creative ideas presented have been tested by presenters who are identified. This book will be helpful for starting a group or perking up a struggling one. There are troubleshooting ideas as well. Encourage the small-group leaders in your congregation with a copy of this book and make one available for potential leaders

This book gives you a nice overview of anything about small group. Plus, a lot of practical exercises. However, you don't get too much detail on the subject.

This review is from: Discipleship Journal's 101 Best Small Group Ideas (Paperback)
If you long to be more influential for people's lives, and WILLING to learn to be a better small-group leader... This one serves a very good guidelines for you. It's true it does NOT give you details, it gives you guidelines! However, I don't think details will work well since there're numerous varieties among all small-groups. Thus, guidelines serve better for me. I learn to develop details based on these guidelines.
I used some techniques in the book and did a feedback, which turned out to be wonderfully positive! Also, people said they knew more about God after one study I led based on the method. And help people know more about God is all you want, isn't it? Therefore, this is a very good book for small-group leaders in my opinion. It is not a matter of who NEEDS to learn, it is a matter of who is WILLING to learn... Enjoy!

I haven't read all the way through this book, but browsed through and very quickly found some wonderful ideas to use in our Community Life Group. It has tips for group leaders as well as ideas for immediate use in small groups. It is divided by topics, making it easy to navigate. I'm so glad I bought it.
