The Beauty of the Devil,
By
This review is from: Disciplining the Devil's Country (Paperback)
Chills moved up my thighs all the way to my hips, as I began to read these poems--I wondered where the dangerous sensations would end! Carole Borges empties her collective soul for us to weep and enjoy her sordid and beautiful vision of water, desert, sky, and all the profound emotions a sensitive adventurer can find in between. Borges writes,"The sandfleas danced on the floor drunk on dregs of peyote tea." I danced with them, poem by poem, drunk on her words.

This review is from: Disciplining the Devil's Country (Hardcover)
This is a very spiritual and sometimes dark collection of poems by a very gifted poet. Carole Borges brings to life in her words the colorful souls of the past. The imagery that she provides is haunting in its beauty.
