The Classics are Still King, February 24, 2000
This review is from: Disco Death Race 2000 (Audio CD)
DJ Keoki has released many DJ mixed CD's under the Moonshine label. This is the best out of all of them. Keoki has two primary talents: making music and mixing music. I have never had the pleasure of hearing Keoki live but from what he can do just on this CD I will see him anywhere I can, this first chance I get.
DJ mixing is harder than you might think. Anyone can do it but not just anyone can do it well. There is a lot of though that goes into song selection and blending. I never knew how hard it is until I tried it myself. I am nowhere near as good as Keoki is mixing and that is what sets him apart from the rest. Believe me, to mix well is as good a talent as playing any instrument. You must have a musical gift.
As I said earlier, his song selection here is a little more mainstream if you are familiar with the world of Techno music. Most of his choices here seem to be from the early days of Speed Garage. The output on the CD is a little bit low compared to his other releases but it is enough to rearrange your furniture. This CD was released in 1996 so it has some of the late eighties and early nineties sounds to it.
Many of the Tracks are classics now. The best tracks are #5) XI XI - Feel So Good; interpret this title any way that you want, #12) Cube 40 - You Make Me Function; a nice little ballad devoted to those who depend on each other and #6) Interface - Believe; a great example of early `hard trance.'
If you are looking for a nice entry into DJ mixed CD's or if you like classic Techno mixes than this would be good for you. This is a great starter for anyone interest in electronic music. But don't take my word for it, what do I know anyway? Check it out and find out for yourself. :)

Go Speed Go!, April 27, 1999

You either love him or hate him, but you have to respect his mixing skills. This mix starts off with a bang (everybody thinks i'm high) and twists and turns every which way. A few tracks in the middle lacked the normal Keoki umph, but I know it keeps me moving. Trully, a Techno God!

One of Keoki's best!, July 8, 2005

This is a great album, to say the least. I once owned it but then lost it and have been regretting it ever since. It's such a classic. I need to go buy another copy of it.
