About the Author

DeBorah Beatty has been writing almost since she learned how. Her first book, Minefields of the Heart, was published in 1982. She released her second book, the Gratitudinous Attitude Daily Journal, earlier in 2012. She is a popular co-author and writes on three blogs of her own regularly. DeBorah is a life and small business coach who loves working with people pursuing their dreams. Her specialty is teaching those who have put their dreams on hold for whatever reason how to re-envision their lives, disconnect their Oughta-Pilots and live their purpose -- on their terms -- with power, passion and possibility. She created her Disconnect Your Oughta-Pilot workshop program out of her personal recovery from loss and grief.

More About the Author

DeBorah Beatty was born in Guam and spent most of her life in the South Pacific and boarding schools in Hawaii, Massachusetts and California. As a third generation entrepreneur she has a wealth of business wisdom learned at a very young age and cultivated over 50+ years of experience.

In 1997 after the death of her mother, DeBorah lost everything, spent time homeless and on the streets and slowly made her way back up to where she is today. She shares her journey with others who have had their worlds turn upside down and are wondering where to go next and how to get back in touch with their lost dreams. Her signature "Disconnect Your Oughta-Pilot" helps others learn to let go of "shoulds" and "ought tos" and live a created life.

DeBorah is now a speaker/trainer/educator and coach and lives in the Portland, Oregon area with her husband and four-legged son.

Like many readers out there, I've read self-help books, and attended workshops and seminars on making changes and making a better life. Unlike so many of those, this book actually has practical advice you can really use. I was impressed by the life experiences of the author, who came back after some serious set-backs, and is now living the life she wants. I find it helpful when authors of this kind of book can demonstrate real-life experience with what they're talking about!

Format: Paperback
Disconnect Your Oughta-Pilot is a remarkable book of lessons learned from some incredibly challenging life experiences. DeBorah is truly a wise woman. Many people would be angry and bitter from things that DeBorah went through.

The remarkable and delightful point of this book is how she rose above those experiences with gratitude for the lessons learned. As a result, DeBorah thrives with an golden heart of service. I have personally met her and feel privileged to be a friend. I found Disconnect Your Oughta-Pilot full of useful tips and insights on how to move beyond the demands and expectations of others to pro-actively manifest your own delayed dreams.
