Don't waste your money., April 17, 2008
This review is from: Discontinued (Paperback)
Please don't waste your money on this book. It is poorly written, it appeas it never went through any editing. There is horrible grammar, no clear separation of topics, and random information.
I have purchased several study guides for standardized tests over the last 10 years. This book is nowhere near the professional level of any book I have previously purchased.
Don't waste your money. There is not any helpful information in this disorganized book. Save your money.

don't buy this book, April 17, 2008
This review is from: Discontinued (Paperback)
I have purchased many study guides while pursuing my teaching degree. This was the worst. I would never recommend it to anyone. It is not only poorly written but it randomly goes through topics without any plan. I have takes one year of ESOL classes and I could have written a more organized and comprehensive book.
I would rate this book less then 0 stars!!!!!

Not at all pleased. I would seek alternate source for test prep., April 9, 2010
I purchased this item to prepare for the Music K-12 Subject Area exam, and was very displeased. I am going to begin the money-back process as soon as possible.
I purchased this item for the content review, not the testing strategies, so I should be clear that my review is specifically about the content review.
There was one part of the review that was helpful. It was a good concise review of the music history aspect (composers and eras). But that was IT. It seems as if the authors requested permission to copy and paste paragraphs from an old, out-dated music book. Everything is in a very wordy and overly scientific jargon, and all the information I needed was not thoroughly covered. I do, however, have an alternate study guide that is from my college, and I can confirm that a lot of the required information necessary to know to pass the exam is not covered in this book.
I would not recommend this book to anybody that is trying to effectively review content are for the Music K-12 FTCE Subject Area Exam. I know the pickins' are slim for study guides on this subject area (I know, I've searched far and wide!), but you would be better off without it.
Hope this helps!
