Worth considering for a beginner
Overall, this is a good introductory course. It covers key sugbjects and will meet the needs of the beginner. I would buy it again. I need however mention that the production qualities of this video are not the best. The background piano music annoys you after some time of watching this video.

DVD not what I expected.
The instruction dvd is not very professional. The voice over sound like it is computer generated and in a dull monotone. The content is ok, but the presentation detracts from the content.

Don't waste your money!,

I ordered this DVD set on the basis of others' recommendations and now wish I'd not bothered. I should have had a warning when I unpacked the box to see the clearly cheap photocopied/word-art case cover. This feeling of cheapness was confirmed upon playing the DVD - the commentary is simply an automated voice-recognition program! It's simply woeful - a cheap and uninspiring production. I cannot understand why anyone would rave about this DVD. For example, the section on composition simply provides a computer voice reading a series of text passages with little or no visual examples.
In short: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

A lot to comprehend, it tends to go a little fast. We had to stop it a couple times, to just let our minds take in the information. I think the reason is because the narration seems like a computer generated voice. I think it has been translated from a different language. I was surprised the other reviews did not mention this. We are not finished with the DVD's yet. I know we will learn quite a bit, but be prepared for the strange narration with no voice variation. Sentences seem to run into each other. It is annoying.

Awful. That word does not even describe this dvd. It is a digitized voice over powerpoint slides, plus a piano playing in the background the whole time. I wish i had seen the review from the person on the 5th of November because at least i would have been forwarned. The second disk is "freeware" that you can easily download from the interent. This is definetly a buyer beware dvd.
