Jota Quest is from Minas Gerais, where Sepultura, Skank and Pato Fu are too, and "Discotecagem Pop Variada" is a very good album, with hits like "Na Moral", the most dancing of Brazilian pop music that I have ever seen, and "So Hoje", very sweet and romantic, ideal to listen with your boy/girl friend. Alas, "So Hoje" is one of my favourite songs since I bought the album, and I keep liestening to it when I can.

Yeah man if you're looking for a band with real groove, punch and melody look no more. IT'S AWESOME!Never heard such funky and elaborated bass lines!!! their bassist(PJ) is absolutely amazing!!! and so is the rest of them band which includes a very creative and full of rythm guitarrsit(marco Tulio), an explosive and punchy drumer, a very talented and distinguable keybosrd player and finally an exceptional vocalist full of medium ranges that brings us all into the mood of the black/soul music of early times!!Hey, give Brazil a chance. you really don't know waht you're missing....songs like "na moral" or "Sempre assim" are really special and shouldn't be missed for anything in this world!!!

The best album of the band. A return to their roots: the perfect blend of black and disco music. Impossible not to dance to it. If you want to own a nice current album of Brazilian pop music, this is the one.
