Strong on Rhythm, December 25, 2002
This review is from: Discothèque / Holy Joe (Audio CD)
A nice twist for U2. Some people dislike when bands take a disco approach. However U2's unique style is still front and center. The bass and drums sound awesome. The hooks on the chorus are pretty strong as well. What little that I've heard of the flip song sounds good as well. A deserving single from a pretty good CD.

I didn't recognize this as U2 the first time I heard it but I did recognize that it was brilliantly written and put together, with brilliant but simple philosophy that has not always shown itself in U2's music, it's usually more subtle, but the genuis is still there. It's new, but just as great.

When the song first came out I was surprised by finding out who it was. Well I was in the store and bought the single and I have to say that the mixes are super!!! This is a total change from their normal style and I am pleased to say that I have got this outstanding single.

I like - U2?, April 19, 1999

Is this U2? It took me a while to figure it out. A decent tune - This is where U2 should have been before their ego and self-indulgence took control of their music. There's actually some creativity happening here, unlike some of the mediocre commercialism they've been pumping out in recent years.
