Book Description

May 30, 2001
ISBN: 0963447157 Edition: 2

This book, Discourses & Mathematical Illustrations pertaining to the Extinction Shift Principle under the Electrodynamics of Galilean Transformations, the most recently published emission theory that led to the solutions to all the problems in both gravitation and electromagnetism that were responsible for the success and fame of General Relativity, presenting for the very first time pure classical explanations to the solutions of these famous problems without having to resort to the rigorous treatment of General and Special Relativity. Also published by this author in refereed papers. The book presents for the very first time in any emission theory, clear step-by-step pure classical solutions to such problems as the Invariance of the Wave Equations, the Sagnac Effect, Gravitational Redshift, Solar Light Bending, Mercury Perihelion Shift and the neutron-pulsar star system PSR 1913+16 Perihelion Shift; all in a treatise of just over 100 pages.

Dowdye's published work, in both editions, the 1991 and the 2001 editions of his book, is the very tip-off that led to important, but revealing significant findings on gravitational lensing. Publications and press releases pertaining to these findings are easily search-able online using virtually any search engine.

The author offers to the purchasers of his book complimentary copies of all of his refereed papers and publications on the most recent important findings pertaining to gravitational lensing. More importantly, the published treatise on Gravitational Light Bending published only in this book, is the tip-off that led to significant findings on Gravitational Lensing which explains contradiction of modern astrophysical observations to the light bending rule of General Relativity. The findings were publish by this author in several refereed journals and also recently released in several press releases. Only in this book, the Gravitational deflection of light in the plasma atmosphere of the sun was derived from pure classical assumptions of a minimum energy path of light exposed to gravitational gradient field of sun.

Most all references pertaining to Emission Theories, the subject matter of this book, are regrettably completely out of date and are mostly edited by those unfamiliar with the profound fundamentals of emission theories. As opposed to Ritz's theory, the Extinction Shift Principle presented in this book correctly treats the undisturbed nature of the measurement of a wave or a photon. It is straight forwardly seen that neither the velocity nor the wavelength of a primary undisturbed wave packet or photon can be measured. A measurement of the velocity of a wave packet requires at least two positions, X1 and X2, and their corresponding instances in time, T1 and T2. Any measurement made by a physical observer will extinguish the undisturbed primary wave, replacing it with a re-emitted extinction shifted secondary wave, thus denying the physical observer all observations of the undisturbed nature of the primary wave.

About the Author

The author, Edward Henry Dowdye, Jr., is a Ph.D. Physicist and Founder of Pure Classical Physics Research, who has a deep passion for the correct understanding of profound fundamentals of gravitation and electromagnetism. He is multilingual and fluent in both German and Spanish and in conversational French. He has instructed Physics in a number of renown universities both here and abroad. Dowdye is an emission theorist who first coined the principal axioms of his theory, the Extinction Shift Principle, successfully mapping correctly applications of Galilean Transformations of Velocities to problems dealing with both gravitation and electromagnetism in the frame work of Euclidean Space Geometry. Unlike other emission theories, the Extinction Shift Principle distinguishes that which can be measured from that which can only be calculated by a real-world physical observer. Dowdye demonstrated for the very first time pure classical solutions to the complete set of problems dealing with gravitation and electromagnetism in Euclidean Space, applying the very same principal axioms to the undisturbed, not measurable phenomena. The Extinction Shift Principle successfully led to the exact solutions to the very problems responsible for the success and fame of both General and Special Relativity.

Dowdye's published work, in both the 1991 and the 2001 editions of his book, is the very tip-off that led to important, but revealing significant findings on gravitational lensing. Publications and press releases pertaining to these findings are easily search-able online using virtually any search engine.

Dowdye's emission theory, the Extinction Shift Principle was recently chosen by an elite status university, the Universität Karlsruhe in Germany, as a seminar project assigned to bright young graduate students in Mathematics and Physics for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008.

5.0 out of 5 stars A completely new approach!, August 2, 2001
This review is from: Discourses & Mathematical Illustrations Pertaining to the Extinction Shift Principle Under the Electrodynamics of Galilean Transformations (Paperback)
General and Special Relativity and its associated mathematics have proven most useful in interpreting many observable phenomena in modern physics. Dowdye's Extinction Shift Theory shows that the same phenomena can be explained in much simpler terms solely by using Galilean Transformations. If his theory is proven valid by experiment, we will have a completly new approach to explain many results in modern physics. For those of us who are steeped in relativitic thinking, the Extinction Shift Principle may be difficult to accept, but, if true, accept it we must!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dowdye Presents Alternative to Special & General Relativity, December 18, 2002

This review is from: Discourses & Mathematical Illustrations Pertaining to the Extinction Shift Principle Under the Electrodynamics of Galilean Transformations (Paperback)
Dowdye addresses an important but often overlooked topic in physics, i.e.emission theory. He develops a new classical emission theory based on the extinction effect observed in light moving through media. Dowdye applies his emission theory plus the Galilean transformation of velocities to electromagnetism and gravity. He is able to obtain the principal results of special relativity for electromagnetism and of general relativity for gravitation. Since Ewald (1912) and Oseen (1915) discovered the extinction effect, scientists have known that special relativity was no longer consistent with the Fizeau and Michelson-Morley experiments with light moving through a medium. These experiments were used as the basis for initially accepting relativity theory. Dowdye is to be commended for not buckling under to political correctness but rather developing a proper classical emission theory based on reality instead of an idealized point-particle universe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Naturally Thought-Provoking and Controversial!, June 14, 2001

This review is from: Discourses & Mathematical Illustrations Pertaining to the Extinction Shift Principle Under the Electrodynamics of Galilean Transformations (Paperback)
Dr. Edward Dowdye's book takes a controversial approach to solving physics problems associated with various fields and radiation using the "extinction shift principle" in conjunction with the Galilean transformation. The approach has its critics, since it flies in the face of now conventional and accepted wisdom. Be that as it may, the treatise is definitely thought-provoking!
