This book was a lot of fun to write and photograph. It marks the first time my combined text and photography were used for an entire book, and I've gotta say - it looks great! The story of golf in Hawaii goes back more than 100 years. We have courses at the waterfront, courses in the mountains, and even one, Volcano Golf Course, on top of an active volcano! (Don't worry, though, you're safe.)
I have played every course in the Aloha State, and had the opportunity to speak with many of the architects of the game who have worked in the islands. This book tells all these stories.
I've lived in Hawaii for more than 12 years now, and consider it my home. There is no place I would rather live or play golf.
So for those of you who, like me, love golf and who love Hawaii, this book is like a double ice cream sundae! It'll bring you to the lovely Hawaiian Islands in you dreams and on your vacations. Bring your sticks and your cameras - you'll have ample use for both.

George Fuller has seven books to his credit, including "Discover Hawaii's Best Golf." He has traveled extensively on assignment writing about golf travel for GOLF Magazine, LINKS, pga.com, golf.com and many other publications. I just finished reading this book and admiring the photographs and am inspired to get back to the Hawaiian Islands as soon as possible. The obvious knowledge and expertise of the author is a boon to the rest of us who struggle to perfect our game. Hawaii has always been one of my favorite golfing vacation locations,now I am reminded why. The course descriptions and photography are simply incredible. Just about the time I thought I wanted to return, I now find I am driven back. The photos are fabulous and the detail given on the courses with information from the architechs makes them even more enjoyable and challenging. I look forward to my next trip to golf in Hawaii and definitely with this book by my side as my guide.
