5.0 out of 5 stars colorful and up to date, February 2, 2009
Discover Native America: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah I used Limon's and Minear's first book when traveling in the Southwest and found it very helpful. When I found their new book, I bought it immediately. As I started to browze through the book, I was caught up in the history and culture of Native Americans and found it hard to put down. They have done their research. I am looking forward to planning another trip throughout the Southwest using this new, colorful and captivating guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gem of a Native American travel book, March 11, 2009
"Having traveled with one of the authors (Limon) I can vouch for the extreme care taken to be as accurate as humanly possible. In preparing this wonderful book, many conversations were held with Native Americans, using sensitivity and respect for their traditions. Besides having a handy reference for what events occur yearly in each of the 19 areas covered, you will come away with specifics such as what is appropriate behavior for visitors at a powwow and what are traditional words for "hello" in several languages. This book is a treasure of information, written by two women who love this land and have covered untold miles in the last three decades." Pat F.

The second book by Janet and Tish was again extremely helpful as we traveled the routes and visited the places the authors described. The carefully researched and documented material answered our questions and provided additional solid information that enhanced our appreciation and understanding of the history and culture of the Four Corners area. My husband and I highly recommen this book for anyone planning or traveling in Native America.

Discover Native America is a must have for those who are in love with history, culture and travel in the 4-corner states. From well known tourist sites to the "road less traveled" spots, I find the book to be full of valuable resources. I've traveled the SW many times but this book helps me to find new points of interest and new activities to enjoy.
