Interesting Book, but lacks substance, January 28, 2001
This review is from: Discoveries; Great Inventions (Hardcover)
Discoveries, Great Inventions is an interesting book. I am glad to see the inventions are seperated according to their category: to wit, transport, Life and Medicine etc. I am also glad to see that there is a chonologic list of those inventions in each category depending upon their year of invention. My biggest criticism is: I wish there was a little more history of the invention like how it was invented, mention about the description of the invention and how it bacame useful to the society and the public. I was kind of disappointed that there was no write-up about the invention itself, that would have made this book more interesting and lively to read. I felt I was reading an encyclopedia with a long list of names which to be frank, was kind of boring. That is the reason why I gave this book only 3 stars.
