This book provides an "Glance at a Glance"
The book is fast read and gives a good introduction to cartography. Note that the book's examples are rather focused on English maps, this focus can lead to the fact that examples are most relevant to readers living in or with knowledge of the UK. If the examples had been based on the same site/location, this could have contributed to a more general (global?) angle on the subject where the focus had been the introduction to cartography. The book is easily read and gives a good overview of the topic, and can be recommended as a book for beginners, the book is a good introduction, where you can find inspiration to further reading in the subject field.
