This book is a refreshing and interesting new look at the Islands. Chris Klein has brought the old and new history together in a way that holds your interest from cover to cover. I am familiar with the Islands and it was wonderful to learn more about their history. I was especially pleased with Chapter on Peddocks, since that is the Island where my heart is.

Great book with lots of information. Very well organized and easy to get through - especially when referring back to the book. Also filled with good information for visiting the islands in your own boat.

This short volume is packed with fascinating history of the Boston Harbor Islands--an up and coming hot spot for the city. The photos are beautiful and the writing is funny and smart and informative. It's a great gift for those who are familiar with the harbor islands, and those who just like to know more about the history of New England. Highly recommend it!

Very readable history of each island in Boston Harbor rich in detail. I work for the Education Center on Thompson Island and so many things I read are inaccurate. The Thompson Island section of this book was spot on so I am encouraged to trust the detailed histories of the other islands. Fascinating.
