I needed this book for my computer class. At the time I bought it for around $40 but now you can find it for $4 used.Discovering Computers 2010: Living in a Digital World, Fundamentals (Shelly Cashman Series).
The book came just in time. I bought from [--textbooksrus--].
Anyways, this book is more than just for class. It contains enough information just about everything on computers. I am on chapter 7 right now, but I am very happy with it so far. In fact I am planning to build my first PC based on the info from the book and also other guides on Youtube; I got everything figured out, I just need to gather the funds and order the parts. I am satisfied with the purchase and I recommend this book to all students out there or computer newbies to buy it, especially considering how cheap it is being sold at. Thank you for reading and Jesus Bless you!!!!

If you've never seen a computer or used the internet before, then this is the book for you! Oh, wait...

On a serious note, some of the savvier peeps will think this book is just too obvious.
To less savvy people, it's pretty useful I spose it covers all the need to know kinda stuff.

If you've taken a computer class before, unless you need the book for assignments like straight out of it then I wouldn't reccommend it honestly, just type the ISBN into your Cengage.com dashboard to access the free study tools.

This was a great book for class. But right away you could tell it was out-of-date. A newer version is available and I would suggest you make sure your course needs the 2010 edition and not the current 2011 edition. I can't even sell this book back anywhere because no one will take it.

I saved a lot of $ by purchasing this older edition rather than the required text for my class. So far everything has been fine as far as material matching up and key concepts. Completely worth it for me and I would recommend.
