A perfect blend of parental and spiritual observations. I enjoyed the endless stream of fresh analogies that always brought a smile to my face. My take-away was a new appreciation for finding God in the midst of life's daily routines. Not to spoil the ending, but the Epilogue has one of my favorite sentences: "This entire book was written during nap time."

I have read this book numerous times and it still makes me laugh, cry, and just feel good that other moms go through the exact same things I do! I love the way each chapter is wrapped up with a spiritual passage or bible verse. I have given this book to friends who are also on this journey of motherhood and all have shared the same fondness to Discovering Motherhood as I do. I am greatful to Annemarie Scobey for writting such a touching and relevent book for mothers.

This book is reminiscent of the great Erma Bombeck with a spiritual twist. The way the author expresses her personal journey into motherhood not only inspired me but gave me great pride in the work we mothers do. Along with the witty story telling is a compelling undercurrent of strength, patience and determination. This book is an excellent read and a perfect gift as well.

This book was truly enjoyable to read! I have read it through and in parts 3 times! Each chapter is relevant to a parent (even if you do not participate in a foster care system). She is a master with words, wit, and wisdom. I have already given it as a gift to 4 different women!
