There are still a few copies of this 1998 first edition. It was updated in 2003 by a second edition. However this first edition is the only edition with color photos.

About the Author
Captain Rick Rhodes worked in Washington, DC and lived in boats on the Potomac River throughout most of the 1980's and 1990's. The author twice sailed to Central America in the mid-1990's. Afterward in 1999, he volunteered for Peace Corps Service in South America. He returned to the States and his been living on his small trawler in St. Petersburg, Florida since 2001.

This is definitely the BEST cruising guide that I've ever owned. Each of the many maps are annotated, for ease of reference. The restaurant reviews are consistent with our experiences, as are the descriptions of the places to visit and see.

THIS 1998 EDITION HAS BEEN UPDATED. We came out with a new second edition in May 2003; and amazon.com does carry it. However after six months of trying, we've been unsuccessful at getting amazon to reflect this on their websites. You can find this newer second edition on amazon, but you must type in the title field, and verbatim, "Discovering The Tidal Potomac, Second Edition." OR you can purchase this book from many marina ship stores along the Potomac. OR you can purchase an autographed copy directly from me.
