Review
This is a workbook to help guide a person in finding what they really enjoy doing in life. This is an opportunity to go through your life and your current goals and have them match as well as finding a job that you really enjoy.
There is really good information throughout the book that allows you to really examine what you are currently doing and determine if it really makes you happy. The artwork that is included is typical for any business and I have seen it used extensively in powerpoints and handouts.
I could see this workbook being useful if a person is burned out or just starting their career. It would probably be helpful to a college student that was have a difficult time trying to determine their major. The assessments provided a wide scope of different areas and did not just focus on a particular field like other workbooks I have seen. There is an opportunity for you to really compile a wide range of information about yourself and plug it into an overview to help get the big picture. There are some limited references and a large area to write down thoughts. The goal section has clear time frames that I believe every goal setting session calls for.
There is a very interesting chapter on developing patience. I found this chapter the most interesting and the most useful. It would be nice to be able to just use this chapter for my subordinates and peers in my current job.
Overall this was an interesting experience and I enjoyed filling out the workbook, Discovering Your Passion. I would certainly recommend it to my co-workers and friends that are experiencing moral problems or dissatisfaction with their current job. --Reviewed by A.J. Cooper Reader Views (Austin, Texas)
