5.0 out of 5 stars fun for me and my daughter
I was a deadhead in the 80's, and now I'm grown with a family. I love this game. On the back of the "property" cards (albums, record labels) is lots of GD trivia. My 11-year-old loves to play Monopoly-type games, and I love the Dead, so we both love playing this game together.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Varient of Monopoly
I bought this item as a gift. As happens, i found it more fun than the gift recipient. I read the cards, the rules, the properties, etc., and I found the entire Dead experience presented here intriguing. I'm not sure if it's for every single person in the family, but the game is creatively inspired and fun as a novelty piece and as a Monopoly game.

VERY COOL!! Fun to play monopoly, but this just makes it a bit more fun because the idea is the same, but yet it is so different. Kids can play this to help them learn about money.

Got this last week and finally sat with friends to play the game. We turned on Sirius Grateful Dead Channel for background and set up the game. And proceeded to enjoy the next 4 hours in a blur of music, memories and unbridled capitalism. The time flew by so quickly and gameplay was so much like the traditional monopoly game we barely noticed the clock strike midnight. Our hostess, who really is a talented events organizer and business woman, literally cleaned our clocks. But that didn't matter to us. Even as I was cleaned out by landing on luxury hotels developed on great musical archives, eventually all owned by our hostess, it mattered naught as I was carried away by the many good memories of so much great music and camaraderie that was an earmark of being on tour with the Grateful Dead. The REX Foundation and Karma cards were pure genius and added greatly to the game experience. Be sure to read carefully the appropriate use of the VIP Pass. It can mean great success for the holder of the pass. Anyone who enjoys the traditional Milton-Bradley game will enjoy this interpretation. Anyone who enjoyed the traditional Milton-Bradley game and enjoys the music and camaraderie of the Grateful Dead experience will bring this game along to any and all house parties. Highly recommended and very fun times.

I thought this would be a great game and way to share our passion for the dead with my grandkids who are big monopoly fans, but they really have no idea what any of it is all about and they get bored easily. We have yet to make it through an entire game, and will probably be back to the original monopoly the next time we play.
