This review is from: DK Projection Clock Radio (Toy)
Really is overpriced, cheaply made, badly designed and misleadingly described on the Discovery Channel website. The radio had very poor reception and it was very hard to tune in on any station, (compared to others we've used) the clock alarm was unreliable because radio reception was so poor and the projection was pitiful to me, though my kid said it helped her get to sleep once... it's really a single static pattern of a couple of "planets" and some random "stars"..it will move, but that causes it to hum annoyingly. Very sorry I got this for my daughter, we replaced it with something different as soon as we could. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but this was a Christmas gift we hoped would be useful and at least a little magical. It wasn't. And now it looks unavailable, I sure understand why!

I bought this at CVS for about $20. It lasted maybe 3 weeks before it started making a weird sound, at bedtime, whenever my son turned on the projection ball which was the feature he loved most.) He loved it so much, so I went back to CVS and picked up another. I couldn't find my receipt, so I laid out another $20, thinking this is a Discovery Channel product and so this must have been a fluke! I'm sure the new one will be fine. If only. Well, the second one started making the very same noise about 1 week later! Now, a year later, the clock doesn't work at all but my son loves it so much he won't let me throw it away. He is so disappointed and wants me to buy a new one. I refuse. Fool me twice... Folks, this is made very poorly. I implore you to avoid wasting your money and disappointing your child. It is such a cool looking product and has such potential but Discovery Channel needs to pay attention and force the manufacturer to live up to DC's good name. This doesn't cut it. PS: The price on this site is LAUGHABLE. You are being severely ripped off. This is plastic junk and only cost 19.99 at CVS

Discovery Kids always creates quality, educational toys and this is no exception. Great as a nightlight-stars & planets light up your child's room adn the alarm clock even has a snooze.
