Bought four of these this Christmas, for kids from 3 to 8 years old, including my own daughter. It was a hit every time, and no one has experienced any problems. There is starter paper, and the paint doesn't get used up very fast at all. Would like to know how to get paint refills, but for paper, any appropriately-cropped cardstock will work. The kids use it under adult supervision to prevent messes, and we get smiles and squeals of delight reported from every giftee. The older kids learned about centrifugal motion, too, solidifying a scientific concept firmly and in bold color! Absolutely no negative reports on this brilliant product.

My daughter loves this. It comes with some nicely pre-folded cardstock to make personalized note cards. No problems with the device, she was able to figure out all directions herself (9 yrs old). Would be nice if packs of refill papers and paints were readily availble, though I suppose any would work.

I got this for my daughter when she was 6, 2 years ago and she still loves it. It doesn't come with much paper, but just cut your own squares in cardstock and it's good to go. A lot of fun, not much mess, and easy to keep the kids happy for a good amount of time!

My 8 year old loves this he is so creative with it and it maintains the colors in the machine so no mess.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas 2009. What arrived looks more like the "Alex" branded spin art toy. The description says that the paints are water-based, but the paint would not clean off of the table and would not wash out of clothing (A year later the paint is still on our table and her clothing was thrown away). The paint is like runny t-shirt paint. Other than these disputes, this spin art toy was great fun. Based on the non-washable paint, I'd recommend it only for older kids who can play unsupervised.

I bought this for my 4-year-old niece and she had a great time with it right away! It was easy to get started and such a simple concept, but you should have seen how proud she was of her work of art!
