Terrible high Chair,
By
This review is from: Discovery High Chair - Tattersall (Baby Product)
This high chair is horrible. Even in the most upright position it still reclines way too much. My 12 month old (who is in the 90th percentile for height) cannot use it. She has to lean forward, get food, and then recline. It can't be safe! The only good thing about the chair is the nice fabric cover. I contacted Evenflo to complain and their response was "too bad." They stated that it was not designed to sit fully upright. What a mistake!! We are very sorry that we wasted our money on this chair and bought the Fisher Price Aquarium High Chair and are very happy.

Great for a 10 year old kid! Otherwise - this is TERRIBLE,
This review is from: Discovery High Chair - Tattersall (Baby Product)
Who on EARTH designed this for an infant, toddler, or a preschooler?
Our baby is now 9.5 months old - and she STILL doesn't fit in this chair. This chair is for a CHILD who must be something around 10 years old. For a GIANT. You need about 6 inches - NO KIDDING of more height for the child seat relative to the tray where they eat! Who would design this. This is terrible. It does adjust. That's great. It adjusts - so when your kid is old enough and tall enough to sit in this chair - you can remove the tray and adjust the height of the overall high chair to fit up to your own table - what ever table height that is. Unfortunately - I really really hope that if you kid is old enough to fit in this chair - he/she can SIT in a real chair right at the table. It does also recline... great for a 1 month or younger ... but 1 month or younger babies - are not eating solid foods. Hello! So it DOESN'T actually sit perfectly straight up either! So your child is always sort of leaning back... this is TERRIBLE for a baby who is learning to eat finger foods. Ideally you would want your infant who is learning to eat finger food to lean his head forward not backward and spit out the food. Don't get me wrong - I don't mean that the kid should be able to lean forward and fall - but a permanent lean backwards is undesireable in a high chair. Don't be like us, don't waste your money on this horrible design.

My opinion after 6 months...,
By
This review is from: Discovery High Chair - Tattersall (Baby Product)
We have had this now for 6 months. And, I agree with most of the other reviews...I am disappointed that it doesn't sit straight up and it is too low.
This is our first child. At first, the baby is small and you have to recline them, and you don't realize. But now that he sits up to eat, I hate that it doesn't sit upright all the way. I can't use the tray because he still is really not tall enough (even though he is 95% percentile at 10 months). So, I just use the bottom thing that just holds him in and separates his legs and has a small place for finger food. But, he pulls his legs up all the time and reclines in the chair and rests his legs above the chair and kicks. It is annoying. As far as the tray and toy...he isn't even big enough for the tray let alone the toy. I just put the toy on the floor for him to use. I don't even know if he really would be able to play with it properly when he gets bigger since he will never be able to sit upright. Wish I could get my money back.

Wish I'd bought a different brand,
This review is from: Discovery High Chair - Tattersall (Baby Product)
We are not happy with this highchair (we have a slightly different one) at all now that our daughter is 10 months old. It was fine in the beginning when she was an infant. We liked the different reclining positions. That's part of why we bought it. Another plus was that it folds up for storage or travelling. However, it is very awkward to carry.
We loved that the seat could be removed and machine washed. Then I tried it. I'm not going to be doing that very often because it is a pain to get off and back on again! I'd rather wipe it down as best I can and only remove it when I absolutely have to. The snack tray that swings open is nice, but it started to get loose after only about 6 months of use, and as far as we can tell it cannot be tightened. Since ours is a bit different, I'm not sure about the review saying the snack tray won't come off, but ours does. It snaps off when all the way open...sometimes when we don't want it to. The locking wheels are nice for moving the highchair around the house. They are also very attractive to little hands and very difficult to unlock with your feet without shoes on. I don't know if this is better on other highchairs, but it drives me crazy now that my daughter can lock the wheels while playing. I keep having to bend over to unlock them because I never wear shoes at home. The two worst things about this highchair are what many others have already said. The main tray is way too high, and it doesn't sit all the way up. The snack tray was sufficient until my daughter was old enough to start finger foods. Now it would be nice if she could sit straight up and be able to reach the main tray without towels, phone books, etc, to support her. It seems like this chair was made for infants and toddlers, without thinking of older babies 6-12 months at all. I doubt she'll be tall enough even by 12 months as she's only in the 50th percentile.

Don't buy it!,
This review is from: Discovery High Chair - Tattersall (Baby Product)
This was a spur of the moment purchase. I wish we had researched it first. The main problems with the chair are as many have mentioned: you can not sit the chair upright and the seat is too low in relation to the tray. We purchased the chair when our baby was about 4 months olds. You could only see her little head peaking over the tray. She is now 13 months old and tray is still at chest level. Several visiting children have used the chair and all have been too small. We purchased the Swing Tray Portable Booster Seat and love it. The portable booster seat is the chair we use everyday while the Evenflo sits useless in the closet. Save yourself the $75!

Doesn't sit upright,

I thought this highchair looked great in the beginning, but after much adjustment I found that this seat doesn't sit upright even in the most upright position. My 10 month old is in the 90th percentile for height and weight and she still can't sit up and the main tray is too high for her. We use the snack tray and she wipes all of her food on the sides (in all of the cracks and crevices-Yuck!). I WOULD NOT reccommend this highchair-it looks nice, but that's it!

This chair is horribly awkward. The chair is too low in relation to the tray, and the seat reclines too far back.
Do yourself a favor and shop around. This chair isn't worth it. I have other Evenflo products, and I was very disappointed with this product.

TERRIBLE CHAIR,
By northeastmom "northeastmom" (Hartford, CT) - See all my reviews

I have read the reviews and wish I had done so prior to buying this chair. I bought this chair 2 months ago for my 10 month old son and despite that he is TALL for his age, he can barely reach the tray. He is too reclined. My husband thought I had put it together incorrectly but after a quick visit to Babies R US last night, I realized that the chair's "upright" position is too reclined and indeed the chair was properly installed. All the other chairs I saw actually have an upright 90 degree option which makes sense once the babies are feeding themselves. I could not recommend this chair to anyone who wants their baby to feed on his/her own. We are still using our all in one booster seat and it works great. I wish I had not spent the $100 on this item. It's too bad because it is one of the only decent looking high chairs. I am now taking this chair to a consignment shop and cutting my losses.

Wow, I' surprised by the other reviewers,

I purchased it after my son was born when he was about 2 months old. I do understand reviewers who have complained that the tray was to high for their babies to see over. However, we didn't us the tray until my son was 1 year old (he didn't really need it yet). Without the tray in place there is a small snack tray on an arm that comes across the highchair that the larger tray sits on that actually swings open to make it easier to get your child in and out of the seat. The snack tray was perfect to use for more than 6 months, from the time he was sitting up until he was eating with utensils. I love that the chair reclines b/c it allowed us to use the chair right away, its perfect for infants. Our son was always with us at the dinner table. Regarding another reviewers comments about cleaning the highchair and crumbs getting under the seat - I found the best and fastest way to clean the chair was with the baby bottle brush. The brush released stuck food in a few seconds in places a washcloth or sponge couldn't reach. I have yet to find a chair that didn't get crumbs under the seat cushion (big deal?). I also loved that the chair is on wheels which made it easier to push out of the way when it wasn't in use. I am looking forward to when our son gets older and we can eliminate the tray all together and lower the seat to slide right under the dinner table - forget the booster seat! I personally love evenflo products. My husband hit our stroller while it was parked in the garage with the car, damaging one of the wheels. I was terribly upset believing we would have to go out and buy a new stroller but I contacted evenflo through their website, ordered a replacement piece that was shipped to me in 2 days and the stroller is fine! They have excellent customer service and great user friendly manuals compared to other product lines.

My mother in law bought his High Chair for us as a gift, I hate it. My daughter is 5 months old and still can not use the tray its over her head, she has to grow so much more to even use the thing, a big waste of money.. Now that shes 5 months I usually give her a toy to sit with while we eat dinner, and the toys are always on the floor because I cant put the tray on the silly thing, also the toy that comes with it has very poor sound quality.. Not to mention she cant reach it...Please dont buy this high chair.. Youll be as sorry as I am.. I also forgot to mention now that she eats solids I have to balance feeding her and all the bowls because I cant put the tray on....
