So.. when I found some extra time, I decided to open up the lid and inspect the motor for any correctable issues. Those tiny screws were secured so tightly that I asked a stronger friend to give it a try, and unfortunately the plastic around the screw broke after successive attempts of increasing arm strength!
Really, the product isn't that expensive, but its short life span was such a disappointment that I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. You may be better off buying a used fish bowl or small fish tank, a small air pump, and some fake jellyfish for a DIY display. In that case, you can even pick your own background, substrate, and fake plants or coral to add to the display :)

This is a cool toy for a child to understand the habitat of a jelly fish, but I do find that the fish keeps getting stuck to the top. Read morePublished on April 5, 2013 by John Delsanto
