4.0 out of 5 stars Play that funky music, White Boy, November 11, 1998

Cragg can rock the didj, I assure you. Lots of samples on this one, which distracts just a tad from the awesome organic capabilities of the didj, but who cares? He drops the "hey I can play like an Aboriginal master" BS, and just gets into the spirit of the instrument, rockin' the house with a multi-cultural mix of electronic treatments, acoustic mixes and sure-shot rhythms. You gotta check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flawless, Timeless Feel, June 19, 2006

This is much more spiritual than the above review of funky white boyness gives. (It does kind of funk and rock but like a natural electronica.) It is special and though from '97, it sounds as good or better than recent releases. I would have guessed 2002 or so. For those yearning to hear didg in combo with other great sounds- of nature, sacred voices, and organic samples in meaningful, semi-serene, and entrancing beauty and Aboriginal-like dreamtime suspense, I recommend it. It's one of my favorites. I feel like I'm connecting to the hidden (of goodly littler peoples, faery, mystical aspects of nature, etc.), learning, and celebrating it when I choose and place it in. The tunes seem flawless, like where everything fits well- not perfected over and over, and of great taste. It compares to a degree with Deep Forest though more earthy-primal, really naturally, spiritually aware-sounding (the composer), and of Gondwana (Aus). When it's over, I want to hear more- not the same; once is powerful and enough at a time, but the next of such great comfort, intrigue, freedom, and excellent musicianship.
