I bought this thinking it would be a proper full-game guide for Disgaea 2 on the PSP, since it was the same price as a proper full-sized guide. However, it's only for the extra content added to the remake! The intro in the beginning even tells you flat-out that if you want to play the base game you should buy their now out-of-print PS2 guide for the game. This would be somewhat forgivable if they didn't charge $25, the same price as a new guide for a complete game. Yes, it's useful for the new content, but most of that can't be accessed until you've completed the base content that they just didn't feel like publishing despite the high price. Unless you are a total completist, avoid this; patronize one of the many people selling the PS2 guide second-hand instead, since that one actually contains the advertised content necessary to help in playing the game. If Double Jump continues to pull stunts like this, they'll wind up losing a lot of the goodwill that their previous, actual thorough work had earned them. Disappointing and surprisingly lazy & unprofessional.

When I ordered this item, I was expecting something like the Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness - The Official Strategy Guide. Comparing to the it, this guild is not worth the money at all. It only covers the strategy of Axel's story line, and pretty much it. It only has less than fifty pages of actual useful guide, and the rest is just datasheets. Also, this guide cost $24.99, which is almost the cost of the game itself (I got it from amazon for $27.99). Don't spend your money on this half guide. The information online is free and much better than this.

Finding a guide for this game was difficult as not a lot of people are Disgaea fans; I'm a big enough fan to cover those who aren't. I like 'having' the book more than I actually 'use' the book, but that's alright. Unfortunately, I did still have to purchase "Cursed Memories" as well. Again, that's alright because I played the first PSP Disgaea for over a year and I've been playing this one since it was released. That's a lot of bang for my buck.
