This book was so vague I have to believe it is an FBI plant to see who would need a book on disguises. I was doing a presentation on Sherlock Holmes and this book was not at all helpfull.

What a let down. If you are reasonably intelligent adult and spend 30 minutes thinking about disguise, you should come up with at least 90% of what is in this book. At best this is a VERY simple starting point for broad ideas and general thoughts. If you want help with resources or real technique - look elsewhere.

An excellent book on the art of disguise!,

This review is from: Disguise Techniques: Fool All Of The People Some Of The Time (Paperback)
Disguise Techniques is one of the finest guides to the covert world ever written. It is filled with practical advice and information aimed at allowing the reader to master the art of disguise with the minimum of fuss. Frequent examples of actual situations in which disguise was utilised are given in this book, including a large number of entertaining factual accounts. The thing that I liked most about this book is that it focuses more on the mental side of disguise, as instead of just how to change your appearance using make-up etc.(although this is covered in detail) Simply putting on a wig, some make-up and some old clothes will not make the grade in the real world. This book teaches you how to think like someone else, so that even your own family won't be able to recognise you. I urge you to buy this book if you have any interest in the covert world, or if you just like a good read. With this book and "Methods of Disguise" by John Sample, you'll be able to disapear at will. |
