Dishonored: The Dunwall Archives is a nice companion book that adds to the story of Dishonored through excerpts gathered from individuals from Dunwall and other sources.

The book's a hardcover somewhere between A4 and A5 size. The 212 pages are filled with a mixture of artworks and text.

The excerpts could be stuff like lyrics to the songs sang by sailors, dialogue from a theatre plays, observations from travelers' journals, Overseer's findings, etc. All these provide pieces of information that adds to the world created by the game. You'll be able to learn more about certain people, government officials, the Empress, Rat Plague, whaling or even how to operate a butcher's saw. Basically, you get a different perspective of how things are, the other side of the story as told from various sources.

The artworks are wonderful. Unfortunately, there isn't a dedicated artbook for the game, so you'll have to make do with the selected pieces of artworks included in this book, which are mostly full coloured concept art.

It's an interesting book of art and fiction of Dunwall by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Recommended to Dishonored fans.

Seems Arkane Studios is gonna keep the game's breathtakingly beautiful artworks in their vault for longer time. This is not an art book, this is a novel-size essay collection with pictures, basically 50% texts, 50% artworks. It includes the notes and novels you can find in the game, printing them nicely in this book.

Pros
- High-quality printing
- Contains a few artworks and texts that never seen before

Cons
- This is NOT an art book T_T

Though it's the only official Dishonored print available. Still Love it.

Dishonored is my favorite game next to Fallout 3. So when I saw this was coming out I had to get it. As soon as I opened the book I knew I had made a great choice. The first page had me hooked, and I can't stop reading and staring at the beautiful artwork. This book has lots of info, and I've discovered things I never even knew about the game. I wanted something more than just an art book, and that's exactly what I got! And thank you Amazon for the great price!

You can read a lot of this material in-game. The cover and quality of the pages is great; high-quality. There are maybe a few excerpts that are not included in the game, but not including those, I don't feel like I learned much about the Dishonored universe, which is a shame, because that is why I bought this book. The illustrations are nice too (but again, you can see a lot of them in the DLC for Dishonored). Overall, the quality of the book is very good. The written content gets 2.5 stars for not sharing anything new overall.

I got this for Christmas 2014, it is excellent to the say the very least. It isn't technically an art book, it is more of a volume of lore, literature, and other things from the game, but compiled into a single tome so it is easier for you to read, and it is interesting to see how much world building and thought went into Dishonored, which, by the way: is one of my favorite games. I could not be happier.

Over 100 pages of sheer amazing, great art, and an intimate look at Dishonored from a macroscopic point of view.

I am a HUGE fan of Dishonored, a game where there is literally more than one way to skin the proverbial cat. I was THRILLED to hear that the Dunwall Archives existed- and even more eager to get a copy of it on kindle as it was cheaper.

This book pulls no punches, and as a game that's literally all about perspective, it's book opens up thoughts you never got to expand upon in-game. Brilliant, beautiful, and very well worth my money. But I AM talking about the kindle edition here, so it's time to get to the reasons why it's not a 5-star. Dunwall archives, I fear is not properly formatted for kindle, for reasons that in one way or another wouldn't have been too bad on their own, but together it would likely have been worth it to buy it hardcover.
For starters, the table of contents is very limited in it's use. The pages themselves are noted without any indication of the story or picture, and it makes the book a little unwieldy if you're looking for something specific. On top of that there are many cases where the size of text on the pages is so small that it becomes a chore to read for those of us who need glasses. It wasn't that bad, I guess, but it is something that I -with nearly perfect vision- noted. But the coup de grace which made me go; "Should'a shipped", was that some of the names on the beginning pictures are improperly zoomed-in-on, which leaves half of the name cut off the page in one way or another.

As a longtime fan of the series begging for the second game to come out already, this didn't detract that badly to my experience. In fact, the book was more than my money's worth- but it would have definitely been worth the extra chunk of cash to get it hard-copy, and I fear my particular affinity for the series has made me biased despite all this.
