5.0 out of 5 stars Greetings......Love it!!
I'm surprised I haven't heard any reviews for this DVD from the Dishwalla faithful out there. So I'll start it out by saying that while the actual footage is somewhat lackluster and straightforward, the sound is wonderful. And, as always, Dishwalla plays the kind of tight close-knit show that I would expect from a band that has been playing together for so long. It's...

3.0 out of 5 stars synchronisation
Great band and solid live performance but who on earth edited this video, i mean really did he bother to look!
I think the oscar moment is during the guitarists soloist preformance, i beleive the synchronisation is a full 30 sec behind what he's actually playing.. so well done genius!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Music- Bad DVD, February 2, 2006
This review is from: Dishwalla: Live - Greetings From the Flow State (DVD)
Dishwalla plays an outstanding sound on this dvd. The extras are great.
However the live concert left me disappointed. The most incredible thing happens. The sound of the concert and the video are totally off synch in songs like counting blue cars. Especially on the guitar solo. You can see his fingers playing something totally different to what you are listening. And sometimes the drummer hits the snare and you just know what you are viewing isn`t what you are listening.
Total Scam.
Worst dvd i own

2.0 out of 5 stars Not representative of Dishwalla quality, October 31, 2006

This review is from: Dishwalla: Live - Greetings From the Flow State (DVD)
I read the comments about the editing before I bought but it still didn't prepare me for how BAD the editing on it was. I swear it was edited by a junior high media class on the last day before summer break. I'd be really interested in how/why the band or their management let this one get put on the streets. Camera angles were also limited.

I love Dishwalla and I did enjoy watching this DVD and some of the special features, but for the price one should expect much much more. This DVD could have been so much better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I Thought, March 13, 2006

Nice Audio, nice extras, poor song list (2 less that the CD) and poor video, With a film director very very inexperienced.
Nice, but not what I expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greetings......Love it!!, November 2, 2005
This review is from: Dishwalla: Live - Greetings From the Flow State (DVD)
I'm surprised I haven't heard any reviews for this DVD from the Dishwalla faithful out there. So I'll start it out by saying that while the actual footage is somewhat lackluster and straightforward, the sound is wonderful. And, as always, Dishwalla plays the kind of tight close-knit show that I would expect from a band that has been playing together for so long. It's this kind of closeness that has kept this band on constant spin in my player for over 10 years now. I know that there are some that would only buy singles, and now even more so with Internet downloads...that seems to be a mainstay. But with this band, I've never been disappointed with any whole album overall. Particularly Opaline and their recent self titled CD. Here, we have a re-release of sorts with Greetings from the Flow State. Although the song listing is somewhat different from the original CD release, it is no worse for heavy wear in my opinion. Just proves to me the band is well versed and practiced at what they do...entertain. As I mentioned before, if you are some kind of video perfectionist, you aren't going to find anything here that you might find on a more heavily produced video DVD that sits among the shelves.
But the kicker, in my opinion, is some of the extras on this release. Anyone, who knows a little about this band, will know they are a serious touring band. The DVD extra's contained, give a fantastic video summary of the USO tour they traveled on during 2003 for the US Navy. Yes, I'm probably a bit opinionated about the whole thing, as I was embarked onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt when they played a show in the ship's hangar bay. I thought it was great when they showed the "haircut sequence" on the DVD when Pete Maloney, the drummer, got a "high and tight" from one of the ship's barbers. And yes, I am very opinionated when a band...instead of raking political dirt over our countries men and women soldiers and sailors, just goes out to them, and thanks them for doing what they are doing by giving them a little bit of "Home".
So give this DVD a view. I highly recommend it. Particularly if you are a fan of bands like Lifehouse, Verve Pipe, Semisonic, and like bands. I also recommend anything else by this band, but start with Opaline or the self titled CD. Guaranteed good music!!

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!, December 29, 2011

Have been listening to the CD of this concert for awhile now. Fantastic. Dishwalla has always been one of my favorite bands, but i never got the chance to experience one of their live shows. I highly recommend this to any Dishwalla, or rock-n-roll, fan. I would have given 5 stars, but a couple songs from the CD are not on the DVD, and the editing of "Give" was very dissappointing. Except for that, I enjoyed this DVD very much.

That was a great experience to buy this DVD which is, actually, a gift for my daughter, who loves this band. Even coming from another country it arrived perfectly well and surprinsingly faster than I thought. I strongly recommend the achievement of this!

3.0 out of 5 stars Must have been some deadlines on the finished product!, September 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dishwalla: Live - Greetings From the Flow State (DVD)
After purchasing this DVD, I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The editing leaves a lot to be desired. The show is good however. There are definitely some crucial timing errors at a few points during this concert. I would imagine the band had a finish deadline date that made them have to settle for the editing done on this DVD. The extra features are fine as well as entertaining. But I have to ask, why would you end "Give", right before the instrumental at the last part of the song? I have the live version of this song on this same CD, and it's all there. They also left off the song "Every Little Thing", which is on the CD. Also a clean beautifully done acoustic version of "Angels & Devils", which sounds like an extra cut without the live audience, that's not on the DVD as well. Usually the DVD has more extra songs than the CD would normally have to offer. I guess not in this case!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best $10 I ever spent, August 28, 2007
By
This review is from: Dishwalla: Live - Greetings From the Flow State (DVD)
I have been a hard core Dishwalla fan for years. I just discovered this DVD on Amazon and didn't hesitate to buy it. I was a little worried because of what some of the other user reviews said, but I thought "Hey, it's Dishwalla. It's still great music." I'm very happy to say that I was NOT disappointed! Ok, so you can tell the camera work wasn't done by a high quality professional and I was a little bummed that two of the songs from the CD were cut. That aside, the sound is incredible, and Dishwalla puts on a fantastic show. If you're a die hard fan and appreciate their music, you won't mind the so-so camera work. Personally, in my opinion, I actually like it. It makes you feel like you were at the show. This is one that I will for sure watch over and over again.
