“It is an absolute privilege and honor to help and encourage others press towards that high calling in Jesus the Christ (Philippians 3:13-14). What makes me tick is to know and trust that God uses me to reflect his power.” The focus of my ministry is to the unbeliever as well as the carnal Christian. Often, people do want to live a Christ centered life, but feel trapped inside of sin and negativity. God has given me a heart to say to those people, “God has brought me out of a lot of junk and he is able and willing to bring you out of yours.” To individuals already in the love of Jesus, my music will help them remember why they praise the Father God through his Son Jesus.

About the Artist

From ages 4-8 years, LisaErika sang around the house to the R&B artists of the day such as Gladys Knight and the Pips, Marvin Gaye and James Brown. At age 8, LisaErika (influenced by her mother’s musical taste) developed a liking for pop and country music. She embraced pop music as her dominant music genre. For several years LisaErika listened mostly to artists such as Melissa Manchester, Barry Manilow, ABBA, and Michael Murphy to name a few. At age 12, LisaErika began private voice lessons, exposing her to popular standards such as Blue Spanish Eyes, New York-New York and Send In The Clowns.

The following year LisaErika was accepted into New York City’s Music & Art High School. At this time LisaErika was formally introduced to both of the music genre’s that would define her vocal style. While attending Music and Art, LisaErika was required to learn classical opera as part of the schools curriculum. She was also introduced to gospel music via the gospel chorus. LisaErika continues to train vocally believing the adage “when you know classical vocal technique and you apply it to the music style of your choice, you will be that much better at it”.

LisaErika’s major influences are: Mahalia Jackson, Marilyn Horne, Leontyne Price, Loretta Lynn, CeCe Winans, Whitney Houston, Bette Midler, Donna Summer, Stevie Nicks, Tramaine Hawkins, Cecilia Bartoli and Mary Cargile (her grandmother).

This CD is very touching. I thoroughly enjoy listening to LisaErika sing. Her style is different and her voice is just beautiful. The smart lyrics show everyday experiences and what is felt and how God can help. I believe we are going to hear a lot more from LisaErika.

There are few words I can think of to give this CD the credit it deserves, but the one impression you truly walk away with is that LisaErika definitely has spent time with the true God of this world. It is evident in her heavenly tones and and melodies that Jesus has truly blessed her with a gift that should be shared with everyone. Don't think twice, If you like Gospel and you love Jesus - you need to have this recording.
