5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, great message
I had only heard a couple tunes of Savador on the radio, which I liked, before buying this album (based, in part, on some favorable reviews I read here). To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement - this group is powerful (reminds me of Tower of Power) with terrific horn riffs and rhythm section togertherness and drive. There is an expected latin feel...

3.0 out of 5 stars What Happened?
Before I begin, let me say that I've been a fan of Salvador since "Live in Austin", their actual first album. Upon hearing that Salvador was going to release another album, I was filled with excitement. I was certain they would step it up on this new album, they are a very talented bunch after all. When the album was released, I dashed to my local music store, picked...

There is an expected latin feel to many of the songs, but the overall vibe is universal. All the songs have lyrics with a Christian message (and give the impression that these people have no shame about putting it out there that Jesus is why they sing - some "Christian" artists kind of make you guess at their inspiration - not this group! Amen!!). Tracks 1,3,7,8 and 9 are my favorites and present a diversity of styles that make this album so worthwhile. This album has left me anxious to buy more of their stuff. A great addition to your collection, whether you are into Christian music, or not.

This album has lots of "south of the border" rhythm in it. The instrumentals in it are very lively with a great message.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleasing To Listen To, September 30, 2006
This review is from: Dismiss the Mystery (Audio CD)
I enjoyed just hearing the snippets, especially the first track "Now That I Have You". I like the flavor of that track, as well as the single "Shine". Its funny that I have not found this CD in any of the music stores around here. I recommend this effort to any avid lover of gospel music. As always, Salvador ministers to the soul.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD, November 17, 2006

I really love this CD. The song "SHINE" is my favorite. I let people at work listen to this song and they love it. There are two people who want to listen to this CD everyday. What a great way to start a conversation about Jesus Christ then through this music.

"Trying to be the sun" and "Always a whisper" are also fantastic songs.

I JUST LOVE THE WHOLE CD.

THANKS SALVADOR

Upon hearing that Salvador was going to release another album, I was filled with excitement. I was certain they would step it up on this new album, they are a very talented bunch after all. One thing that has always bothered me is how Christian music has a very "Christian Sound" to it. It's very generic. Dismiss the Mystery is an album that falls into that category. Besides two really good tracks, "Shine" & "Te Enaltezco Dios", and one ok track, "Now That I Have You", everything else is generic. Trust me when I say this, I wanted it to be good, but it's time that Christian artists stop taking the "safe" route in the music industry, and step it up! I just hope that their next effort will "shine" brighter.

3.0 out of 5 stars What Happened To The Brass ?, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Dismiss the Mystery (Audio CD)
While this CD and several others do have brass players ... NONE has the quality and punch as their CD "Salvador." That CD is their best ... take a listen. The brass playing on this CD is inferior. Guys ... go back to using Nashville studio heavies (Mike Haynes & Steve Patrick) on your studio recordings ... please! The Nashville studio horn section and "Santana like sound" is what sets you apart from the Rap & rhythm guitar we all have to endure in Christian music!
