I bought this at our local store because it was really cheap on a two-day sale ($10), which often means the game is a total flop, as sometimes happens with Disney game makeovers. I came on here to check reviews, but there weren't many, so I decided to chance it and open it. The first time we played we played with our kids (5 & 7) and two friends that don't have kids. The game was really fun for everyone. The adjectives are simple enough for the kids to understand (words like fuzzy, spooky, sweet, wonderful, heavy, brave, etc) and the noun cards all have pictures from Disney movies or parks. I was expecting them to only be Disney characters, and while the characters are in there, there are also parks (Epcot, Animal Kingdom, etc), rides (Space Mountain, teacups), and other general things (bacon, weasels, a chef, a bathroom, the jungle, dancing). It really is a great game. After playing it the first time before bed, the kids wanted to play it all day the next day. It is simple enough for younger kids, but fun enough for adults. My daughter is a new reader, so I know she couldn't read all of the words on her cards, but she did very well and managed to beat me several times, thanks to the pictures ;). I highly recommend this game!

This version of the popular party game has pictures on each of the red cards with several Disney references throughout. Other than that, this plays the same way as regular Apples with one exception. If you pick a "poison apple" green card (there's 10 in the deck), you must come up with something that's the OPPOSITE of what's on the next green card you pick.

You don't have to be a Disney fan to enjoy this version, there's enough variety of cards to make the game enjoyable for non-Disney fans. My regular gaming group did not care for this version, but I think it's good and adds a twist to the regular Apples game. But someone who despises Disney may have a problem with it.

After playing the adult version at Family Game night, I bought this version to interest the younger family members. After playing a couple of games as a team member because he is just starting to read, my 5 year old decided he wanted to play on his own. It has given him incentive to sound out more words and noticibly increased his reading ability. Also as judges we explain the logic of our choices and he has started to do the same, thereby increasing his ability to reason things out and come to a decision. We have played this game almost every day since I bought it and we all still love it. Playing it has also become a reward for good behavior for the 5 year old.

Our 16 year old daughter asked for this for Christmas. OK, works for us... She took it over to our friends house on New Year Eve, all of the kids (6 - 17 years of age) were playing it and having a great time.

Really fun game for everyone but also good to build vocabulary for grades 1-4. Players read a word on a card and try to place a different card from their hand that means close to the same as the word on the first card. Players need to read the cards and understand the meaning of the words on the cards in their hand. There are versions with increasing difficulty. We found this game when we took two grandkids to camp this summer. You can even vary the winning criteria for longer or shorter game times. This was so much fun and it helped our second graders reading. This became the first birthday gift when we returned home.

This item is "exclusive" to another retailer (Google it, and you'll come up with the major, national toy store) - for a **FRACTION** of the jacked-up reseller price here on Amazon (keep in mind, this is NOT an "Amazon" price, as the resellers set their own - unfortunately at this time of year they also like to try and gouge unsuspecting customers!).

(note that this review refers to the reseller's pricing as of time of the review. If at a later date it is no longer "exclusive" to TRU, and Amazon begins to sell it directly, the price will likely adjust accordingly. But, for now, it's 4-times the price it is elsewhere.)

I don't normally leave reviews, but had to for the Disney game. My kids love the apples to apples games, but some are hard for my youngest, who isn't fully reading. These have pictures of characters and other Disney things they all know, making it easier to include everyone. The poison apple cards add to the fun too!

Santa brought this game for our family. My youngest daughter was 3 at the time and could play along with us as long as we keep our cards showing. The game is so accessible because they love and are familiar with all of the pictures and words. We will often play for over an hour and we have so much fun. A great way to get the family engaged together! I highly recommend this version if you have younger children because it is so adaptable with the pictures on the cards.

We have played the original Apples to Apples game at my MILs house and had lots of fun. I knew that it was great for the adults and the teenagers. We are huge Disney fans and decided we needed to have this when I saw it. We have played it many times as a family and had lots of fun. It's nice to have the Disneyland attraction cards and characters added in and the Poison Apple cards add a fun twist. One great thing about this game is that you can play for as long as you want to. It isn't a game that will go on forever. I would definitely recommend this one.

Love this version of Apples to Apples. We are big Disney fans so the Disney theme is very appealing. Wanted a version we could play with our 6 year old granddaughter. She loved this and the adults had fun too. She could read most of the cards without help, and the pictures helped out when she had trouble, so she only needed to ask for help a couple of times. The concepts to match were ones that she could understand, and the poison apple card (do the opposite) was a nice addition. Can tell this will become a family favorite. The only knowledge of Disney needed for the game, is knowledge of some of the famous characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, Pinocchio, Nemo, etc - they are cards that you can use to match to the concept card (sweet, exciting, icky, fuzzy etc). They use Disney theme items as some of the explanations on the cards, examples: "A Skunk", picture is of Flower from the movie Bambi, description is, "'Oh, that's all right. He can call me a flower if he wants to. I don't mind.' - Flower Bambi 2', "'A Bad Hair Day', has a picture of Cruella de Ville, 'What hats were mad for!' 101 Dalmatians" So some of the descriptions don't really describe what the item is. For Disney fans it's cute, for Disney neutral it's probably fine, but if not a fan of Disney it would probably be annoying. My only complaint is the use of some of the TV show characters like "Hannah Montana". Our 6 year old granddaughter hasn't been allowed to watch these shows yet and is only marginally aware of the characters. I can see where it would be appealing to families with older kids that watch these shows, but for us it means the game has characters we are not familiar with and in some cases characters that we are not in a hurry for her to become familiar with. A minor complaint, and we will still enjoy the game, getting a lot of play time out of it. Much more to like than not.
