By royal decree in the summer of 2003, Disney released "Princess Premiere" pins at "Royal Release" celebrations for several of the Disney Princesses. The Princess Rose Series is one of the "Princess Premiere" pin editions so celebrated. This series includes six unique "Free D" pins that highlight the beauty of roses. Each pin features one of six Princesses. They are Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Cinderella, Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Jasmine (Aladdin), Snow White, and Ariel (Little Mermaid). Each princess holds a different rose variety. The pins are called "Free D" because the rose, made of rubber, is raised from the enamel pin surface to create a 3D effect. Each pin measures approximately 1 ½ inches long x 1 inch wide, excluding the pin clasp. This figure-shaped pin features a waist-length image of CINDERELLA. She appears with golden blonde hair and wears a blue hair-band, a light blue gown trimmed with powder-blue cap sleeves, and full-length powder-blue gloves. She holds a pink and red rose. The rose is raised from the enamel pin surface (3D) and is detailed with sculpted petals. The pin is made of painted hard enamel on base metal. All painted enamel areas are edged in gold. The pin is mounted on the official Disney Mickey Mouse Ears backing display which is black velveteen material on a black plastic card. The front of the display card has the Disney pin trading web site address at the bottom and the Disney "Pin Trading Around the World" logo at the top, in silver print. The pin itself is attached to the backing display card with a black rubber Mickey Mouse ear clutch, which is also used to wear the pin if desired. The back of each pin reads "Official Pin Trading 2003" inside the Mickey Mouse Head Logo and "(c) Disney." Original packaging and price sticker.
